Cricket 19 - AI experiences

I've just had that 'bouncer madness' bit from the AI. In a one off match (pro/med/med, all other sliders default) haven't noticed it other modes/tours etc.

I got about four overs of full and good length bowling from the AI and for the next 20 overs I'd say 11 deliveries in 12 were 'red' length. In fairness on a medium pitch some of those which were just back of a length weren't going over the top by much, so it's not like everything was round my ears. And ol' Boycott was cutting and pulling with gusto!

Still feels too one-dimensional though - @blockerdave any ideas?

I'm tagging you as a) I seem to recall you mentioning overly frequent short pitched AI bowling a while back and b) I'm using your headingley 81 teams so don't know if I need to tweak brutish/aggressive bowler natures or perks etc. to even it out.

@WealeyH might be able to provide some input to this. I'd say if you'd have several overs of "normal" bowling and then it's gone to lots of bouncer, this is the AI "trying something". Did you lose any wickets in that normal period, or were you solid/scoring well? It's possible the AI has gone into "partnership break" mode, trying to bounce you out. But it sounds like it's flipped in too early and stayed too long.

i would certainly check the mentalities and perks too, and see if they do indeed need tweaking

guys , playing in default mode is better or using custom sliders is better ?? Batting , bowling , fielding , Physics , AI ???

what would u guys suggest >??

Here are some specific issues I had encountered in Ashes -- wondering if any of these have been resolved:
1. AI not changing field settings dynamically: Often, I'd find a shot that worked very effectively based on a gap in the field, and would score a barrage of boundaries with the same shot and the AI would never change the field to plug the gap
2. AI not batting taking into account the match situation: lose a wicket and the new AI batsman would come in and start swinging even though the asking RR was <6; or the AI would defend a ball off the last over when there were 10 runs needed. These issues got better with subsequent patches to Ashes but I don't think they completely vanished.
3. Static batting order: I don't remember the AI ever changing the batting order based on the match situation - e.g. sending in a pinch hitter if the situation required upping the RR.
There is no patch note for gameplay changes .

I'm not asking about patch notes, but user experiences with the AI

I am liking the gameplay, I am just trying to find the right spot on the sliders. I think it is just about tuning them

I feel the AI in Test Matches probably isnt making quite big enough scores

Had the game a few days and played a T20 tournament. The same fielding AI issues seem to be happening as in previous games for me in that their fielders are super human. They can get round the boundary to take a catch that it would be nigh on impossible for them to get across to and can even take catches over their shoulders whilst running towards the boundary with ease.

Hey all,

I’ve been having 2 day first class matches and it annoys the cr*p out of me. Anyone know what the right difficulty is to have a normal match on ps4

You probably need to say if you’re losing that quickly or winning that quickly

Mostly both. I usually play as one team and simulate a large amount of the bowling. I know I simulate a lot of the game. But I had no problem in older games.[DOUBLEPOST=1561027237][/DOUBLEPOST]It

its mostly been difficult for me to build an innings, I’m usually getting out for like 170

Is AI not designed for t10? Never seems to score over 60 runs even with wealeyH settings

Run rate is 95 and I have one batsmen with brute mentality always seems to hog the strike and remains not out scoring 10ish off 30 odd balls , he always does that also he is damm lucky and gives countless chances/play n miss without getting out
