Cricket 19 General Discussion

And the new edition will also bring back the popular career mode, with an increased emphasis on player longevity.

“Career mode now has changed how the skill system works, and we’ve added the perks system.

“For any given match you can change one of the smaller perks - for example a slight improvement against a spin bowler, or to bowl better as a spin bowler - but the gold perks will give you big boosts, and you can only change that when you level up.”

"For the first time though, Cricket 19 will see the mode released before the game - so fans on PC can get busy building in preparation" does that conform that a demo is coming out again

May be ECB would have asked asked some fine tuning the game in some aspects. It’s just a guess, may be some other reason.

Again speculating these things without any source info or news gonna jus bring frustration and negative thoughts which is not going to help. Better just to leave it here and talk something else other than release news

Honestly doubt the ECB care what the game is like, as long as they're paid.

Not sure why it is suspicious. If there was any issue or problem with how it is going, they wouldn't have been too keen to show the media either. You know, the ones who write articles more people read than come on here and write the reviews some people consider before buying.

It's not unheard of to trot out a very stage managed version of a poorly tested game for the media. They are usually focusing on the superficial details anyhow, and rarely spot the big ones if their face.

Nah, don't agree at all. I seriously think, they wouldn't have held the event at Lords if they were 'scared' to show off what they have.

That comparison with Ashes 2013 is horrendous, and though it is not even worth discussing, Ashes 2013 didn't have a trailer, nor any media event. It was just a disgusting memory that just needs to be erased from the crowd's mind. For me that disgusting game was the reason why DBC 14 had to be delayed.

Only thing I'd say is, that I am a bit restless that we have nothing in terms of how it looks in game, and this is the longest we have been without it ever since DBC 14. Now the release date is anyway less than 4 weeks. So we will know soon anyway.

Again, whilst I doubt it is the reason, some companies do like to bring a game to media events without proper gameplay footage so they can show off the good parts, while any issues just go under "we're still testing it". Given we don't have anything from that event, it's pretty tough to suggest that the event was used in a way that could have backfired on them either.

At a minimum, we know we're at least getting something of Ashes 17 quality. If the media aren't well versed, they aren't going to think much is up either. Unless something has gone drastically wrong that is, all bets are off at that point. Given BigAnt's track record, I highly doubt that's possible though, if something was truly wrong it'd get delayed.

Again, I've been a big supporter of BigAnt in the past, and I don't doubt they'll ship something. The concern is that it is potentially going to be another backwards step overall, and I don't think BigAnt's overall reputation can take another rushed game.

Moeen Ali with the Sunglasses, is new right? I mean, we didn't have Sunnies in BA Cricket Games, or did we?

Might just be the image quality, but the graphic side of things doesn't look the best.

Noticed it's priced at $79 here in Aus at JB Hifi, usually about the standard. So would be $99.95 at EB Games and the same price on the PS Store.
bit harsh looks better than ashes 17 personally the graphics are fine I reckon

I think Academy is then confirmed for PC before 28th May, totally based on the Yahoo Article though. But, what do they mean for the first time? Wasn't Academy usually available before the game, except AC?
