For the rare times we do get an ring catch in a test match, is it ALWAYS short cover or short mid wicket?

majority of mine have been backward square leg, or mid-wicket/backward mid wicket.

I've no idea what's going on in this game I'm playing.

I'm on Veteran, got the AI run rate at 40.

Still there going at 4.35, taking crazy singles and Gooch just launched me over deep midwicket. 87/2 after 20.

At this point I figure, as this happens to me 9/10 (veteran or legend), it must either be my bowling (I bowl a lot of Good not Perfect balls).

Robin Smith has just aggressive shotted one through cover too.

And the next over another aggressive shot, edged over 5th slip region.

I had one inns like that. Crazy running

Kensington has had a period of very hot weather which has produced a real dusty lightly cracked pitch.

The Windies did not enjoy it against the accurate Aussie attack.

115 All Out after 53 painful overs.

The thing is, when I look at the feedback, there's just as many 'good' leaves.

So I have realised that by making the default X delivery bounce less. The AI play the defensive shots and drives etc that they would to Triangle deliveries.

Which then opens up new dismissals. If that makes sense...

I turned bowling difficulty down to Medium so 100% of balls are Perfect, brought on Abdul Qadir to bowl shin high grubbers and wiped out the run rate and the England batting. Just what's needed on day one at Lord's when it's cloudy and grassy. Although I've done this with spinners on Hard so I'm not sure if it says much. Actually a couple of nice dismissals, the first two and the last one another one of those lesser spotted infield catches.

I added some lovely ambient sounds from Adobe Premiere for extra awe and wonder (actually Wonder and Awe is the name of the music).

Check if you have disabled replays.

Thanks enabling replays did the trick.
Why that should be i suppose is just one of the vagaries of game.

Can someone show me a cover catch (I think Blocker may have done, a short cover).. I have also seen a sweep catch to short mid-wicket on one of the retro videos.

Can anyone show me a mid off or mid on catch before the end of lockdown?

Lockdown challenges...

I haven't seen an in or outfield catch in a test match since November last year in tests. I reckon they should be about 10 per cent of dismissals.

I'm worried that a future patch that may fix this may stuff up other areas of the game. It's quite nicely balanced at the moment apart from this issue. We don't want like 80 per cent of drives being lobbed up to fielders and teams being rolled over for 25. (Connoiseurs will remember Cricket 2000 from EA).

Is the fourth innings test where the AI can chase mad totals a verified "Bug"? Do we have a consensus on that?

Tbh I have seen the 4th innings crazy chase only once in my 10 tests, and that also way back in my first test where they scored 389 but still lost by 10 runs. I believe I have improved my bowling line, length, and variations since then, and the highest I saw then chase was around 250 once when Kumble emerged as the best batsman of India 1999. On every other occasion, they folded within 250 or less, and once in a soft and dusty wicket, they crumbled for 84 or 86. I play on hard bowling with wicket chance at 25 or less, AI timing at 90 or 95, with AI base at legend, but still have not seen the chase.

About cover catches, I have had a short cover catch off a pacer once last month in a test. It's there in the video I shared earlier. Still waiting for a mistimed hit to mid-on or off.[DOUBLEPOST=1587283529][/DOUBLEPOST]Great! What match type was this?

Who here believes they have super realistic custom difficulty sliders? I need some haha...I'm particularly confused on what bowling speed min/max replicates that of real life cricket...and also shot force...often edges are unrealistically flying to the boundary or for six...how do I rectify that rubbish? Hahaha
