Ive had a look at another preview of Cricket 2004 and this one seems to be even more promising than the previous one, once again ive taken out key quotes - here are my views once more.
To say that EA Sports Cricket 2004 is improved somewhat is an understatement.
- This is music to the ears of us cricket fans who are relishing a top cricket game at long last
This game is a complete overhaul of the original, and looks absolutely brilliant as a result.
- once more this quote comes straight from the horses mouth so to speak, meaning they have seen and probably played the game, ive heared a lot about the look and feel of the game and it all gives positive vibes
With a development period of approximately 18 months the developers, HB Studios, have been able to pack this game full of additional features and options.
- good positive news once more, and the additional features and options that are being quoted here look absolutely amazing with the domestic sides of four nations ( Australia, England, New Zealand, and South Africa ), a wonderful new look interface to the game, 75 stadia, all the new trophies and much more...
Cricket 2004 will include domestic teams and competitions from England, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa
- what more can I say than fantastic, and especially for gamers from the nations involved
Playstation 2 version will have 4-player support for some 2-on-2 action.
- This is certainly a key area that I have definitely been quizzing EA over in numerous e-mails in past months, the abillity to play with another human player against two others, brilliant!
the game will include a Master League. According to EA's press release the Master League will be a highlight of this game
- sounds great, hopefully this means the abillity for a league packed with the best domestic sides worldwide involved e.g. Surrey and Lancashire from England, NSW, Victoria from Australia and also the best from New Zealand and South Africa, ( but obviously you can choose what teams you want in it ) like Pro Evolution soccer from all of the domestic range. Hopefully there will also be a International feature similar
The game will revolve around a full TV style presentation including a full action replay mode, third umpire, animated ducks
- Logically this will obviously improve realism and more realism gives a better game in my opinion, and the old animated ducks like on Australian tv, excellent
EAsports Cricket 2004 will include over 75 stadia will be modeled from all over the world, including Lords in England, Calcutta, Melbourne, Auckland, Cape Town, Barbados and Lahore.
- This also sounds highly promising, surely there must be some domestic grounds in there, if so, well done EA as this will once again be a great feature for a die hard domestic fan
During test matches the pitch will even degrade over time. Lighting (the game does include day/night matches) and shadows are of the highest grade
- At long last EA have finally taking into account what we have all been pleading for inclusion for years, a wearing pitch for Murali, Warne and company to exploit on the 5th day of a test match, and also another question that I asked EA about has been answered, the shadows for day/night games - as you couldn't tell weather it was night on cricket 2002 as there were no shadows surrounding the batsman and fielders.
together with real time weather will all add to authenticity of the playing experience.
- Real time weather sounds really good, it will make for more realistic and authentic play
The in-game graphics certainly look impressive with a dramatic increase in the detail on the players faces and bodies
- It is great that the new game will include different physiques and more detailed players along with impressive graphics and a ?dramatic increase in detail? sounds excellent
including various body sizes.
- this will add realism to the game and will make many of us happy who complained of the lack of this in 2002
the crowd effects are based on real crowd sounds from around the world.
- This one really interests me, imagine the barmy army singing along to the England team, or the hostile crowds of India or Pakistand getting on your back..
They have certainly had enough time to add tonnes of detail to the game.
- Just emphasising that EA has spent a lot of time on the game ( 18 months to be exact ) but it is time well spent as the game boasts excellent new features and gameplay, along with lots more from what I've eared of the game
Expect a release for this title in time for Christmas.
- Doesn't this just put the icing on the cake, a post Christmas release ( even if just in the southern hemisphere - ill be getting it shipped from Australia anyhow so it doesent bother me when its released over here in the UK)
I really do think this will be a real gem of a game that us gamers will enjoy for years to come, until the next release whenever that may be. I am eagerly awaiting this game and more than ever after positive previews and looking forward to release
what are the opinions of the rest of you after reading such positive previews
