England Batting Summary
England started off with a good run with the 2 opening batsman, Andrew Strauss and M. Treschothick put on a good show early up, making a partnership worth 90 runs to the team. Andrew Strauss made 49 runs off 94 balls, while hitting 4 fours, before being caught out by Michael Hussey and being balled by somewhat a rather suprise Simon Katich.
After Strauss was dismissed it was Treschothicks turn to fill the shoes his partner left and put on another 20 runs before he was caught by Matthew Hayden at 2nd slip and being bowled was young gun Stuart Clark. He was dismissed from 41 runs, 89 balls and hitting 5 boundaries on his way. Now England look in a good position day 1, going into the 2nd session, the afternoon session, with the scores at 106/2.
Australia Bowling Summary
Australia started off pretty poorly, letting England score a total of 91 runs before getting there 1st wicket, that really hurt Australia, and it made the Aussies desperate for a wicket. They tried everythine, verteran Glenn McGrath tried, spin bowler Michael Clarke tried, but they found there answer, not know for his bowling, Simon Katich the spinner came in and dismissed of Andrew Strauss who would of been looking for his half century just fell short on 49.
And the other wicket fell to Stuart Clark, who dismissed of Treschothick for 41. What we will need to look out for in the 2nd session, is probably the introducung to Shane Warne and Brett Lee, see if they can reduce the run rate and pick up some wickets.
