Cricket 22 General Discussion thread (Use bug report thread for issues/bugs/crashes | Patch notes in first post)

Hi has anyone any tips on how to avoid bowling no balls, anything I can do with the sliders maybe?

Is anyone able to play aggressive shot over extra cover to a spinner? I always end up missing and leave the crease, just to step back in time and avoid getting stumped out.

If 'Australia' are 'pumping' 'England' buff tail ender skills = 'True'

From being 168-7 to all out for 439. Didn't play a heap of Cricket 19 but believe something along the lines of this was a common occurrence for the AI tail? Putting on close to 300 for the last 3 wickets is madness.

In career mode or all game modes?

I stumbled upon a major bug in a career with the release Xbox One X version that I've yet to try recreating since the patch today that sounds eerily familiar. That specifically affected a batting all-rounder career but so far only with batting stance/option 5. (Obviously disregard the following if not in career mode ;).)

Basically, every time I attempted a precision or attacking shot into the covers, the game was automatically over riding my input & taking an aggressive heave/slog instead. (It did this every time regardless of my inputs resulting in a complete miss & the dance out of the crease as you've noted, & a near stumping time after time.)

In addition, I've also tested a genuine all-rounder career with batting stance 6 (if memory serves), & a specialist batsman with batting stance 4, & they weren't affected by this weird glitch at all. (The cover drive remains fundamentally broken in game but at least neither specialty and/or batting stance were affected by this "sloggers glitch".)

It may be you've run into the same/similar issue I did??? Keep a look out for it to see if you can recreate it. Absolutely nothing I tried would resolve it from reloading the match or restarting the game to a complete reboot of the device. Deliberately getting myself out to start a new match didn't help either as it would just return again within 1 or 2 matches anyway. (I haven't got my previous notes with me ATM to recall the exact details, but I think it may have been white ball matches that were mainly affected by this bug too, it didn't occur in red ball matches.)

Sadly, the only option may be to start a fresh career. Just in case, you may also want to at least consider trying a different batting stance next time if you choose the same specialty again.

(To complicate matters, obviously Xbox finally just received a patch so it's possible I wouldn't be able to now recreate it even if attempted. Plus, I finally got hold of a Series X today too so I'll probably/hopefully be using that for C22 from here on out & users have reported different bugs between the legacy & next gen consoles too.)

Impressive effort from the #9, I see!

@wasteyouryouth

What version should we be on after the latest update?

Have you or anyone else seen the tail AI play excessively well when the top order don't capitulate?

I have yet to see the top order capitulate and therefore Iv not seen the lower order so anything I’d substance!

Apologies if you felt the thread wasn't very welcoming, I'll 100% take a look at the wording of the opening post and try to make it more accessible for anyone with slider questions. That is the aim of the thread, after all. It was just to ward off the "I want the best sliders" type posts, not to turn off people with genuine questions.

Funnily enough though, your question did come up on one of the pages of discussion, about how sliders work with regards to different difficulty levels.

I'm sure I read when I first came back to the forums (and I can't for the life of me find it or remember where), but it was @MattW who suggested that sliders are difficulty relative. Think of them as like a continuation of a scale.

So a slider of say, 30 on Legend, will be harder than a 75 on veteran, but it will be easier than the default difficulty of legend but still harder than anything you can do on veteran, if that makes sense.

How much difference there'd be between say, a setting on 99 of veteran and 1 on legend idk, but they should pretty much be next to each other on the "scale", as it were.

I am interested to read @Arctic_Wolf's description though, as I'm not 100% my knowledge of this area are correct!

EDIT

After re-reading Arctic's last description, I think I'm saying the same thing as him, just in a way less straight-forward way haha
No, I didn't mean that it was welcoming, it just sounded way too serious. Because everyone on that thread was posting screenshots, videos and tweaks, explaining which setting on the slider is doing what etc., I didn't understand any of it so it felt out of place to ask something over there lol.
