Well, I’ve just dismissed Qatar for 394 in Dubai! Parkinson (6-149), Leach (2-95). They won the toss. I’ve already adjusted each spin bowler’s bounce because I get annoyed at full deliveries going over the stumps. In this instance it’s a Hard/Dusty pitch so I was often bowling yorker length which claimed some wickets but also (If bowled straight) got swept for four sometimes.
The whole fifth ball getting hit for a boundary is grating. I mean, it’s not quite every over (Sometimes I got hit for a boundary earlier!) and I did manage the odd maiden, though more with good length off cutters by pace bowler.
Second wicket stand then I think it was numbers 6/7 or 7/8 that had a reasonable stand. Frustrating but not necessarily a case of moaning about lower order scripting. In fact, all but their number 11 got double figures!
I’m 150-4 in response due to a series of s^*t shots. Hameed, Duckett, Malan… it’s all very real! My stereotypical innings is 2/3 lovely shots then nick behind cutting… or play big shot like I did with Malan, fail to execute and kick myself!
I started at 10am and did actually get a full 90 overs in a day. When I played 11am start it always started later (Rain?) and got nowhere near 90 overs.
Slowness of non-striker setting off still annoys me.
Was Qatar v England in Dubai but I was referred to as home team.
Anyway, few broken record observations from me, playing on Medium (PS4) and up against it against Uganda, Denmark and now Qatar!
