Cricket 22 General Discussion thread (Use bug report thread for issues/bugs/crashes | Patch notes in first post)

I'd love to have these extra stuff like weather conditions affecting gameplay etc., too, but issue here is when major gameplay related things are still at a messy place, I'm afraid we aren't quite there yet to suggest these kind of add-ons, since it may give the idea that the base game is at a point to ask for such things.

See below, out of the 30 overs I faced while batting and the total of 100, its ridiculous to say that Byes being the 2nd most contributor to the total. And yes, most of them were good length balls which I left alone & Keeper staying idle crouched.

It got to a point where I have to 'press leave' quickly for those close balls so that it has a chance of being collected by the WK, since if I just watch the ball idly the WK also follows me and stays idle.

This is just one among many things like AI shot selection & scoring, basic fielding still being dodgy, Unable to edit bowling proficiencies for specialist bowlers & mentalities/styles for licensed players, AI bowlers bowling majority of those 'wobbly' balls if pacers and top spinners if spinners etc.,

So, we all can love those extra stuff once Core Gameplay is SOLID as it can be, especially with 3 months gone by since the game has released..

In the new patch has anyone had forward dives in the game.
Big bash should have X factor players
Power plays 6 overs
Slips should have quicker response

Hi. I owned Cricket 22 on PS5. Sadly had to let it go. Purchased a Series S now. What is the game play like on Series S/X currently?

Yup, I've been experiencing this too but it's completely random & it's happened when I've been batting or even during a gym session etc :(.

It's not the first patch iteration to not only crash Cricket 22 itself but when C22 does inevitably crash it causes the Series X to completely & immediately shut down as you've described too. (And no, it's not good for a system to repeatedly crash in this fashion, & yes, it could potentially cause damage from software corruption to hardware failure such as damaging an SSD to blowing a PSU, or worse.)

It wouldn't be so bad if these were isolated events but this is happening with alarming frequency & to take the Xbox down with it when it crashes is worrying. (Yet again I've been forced to quit C22 for fear it could damage a Series X & they're not exactly cheap or easy to get hold of in the first place.)

I've owned various models of Xbox over the years & not once have I ever experienced another title crash so hard that it ultimately causes the Xbox to shut down in the process as well. (PC's yes, an Xbox, unequivocally not.)

Yes I have had it too, just cuts completely out. Problem is there is nothing in common for it to happen. Mine went the other day as the mini fielding game up and gone. @MattW are you guys experiencing this? I do worry for that it'll fry the Xbox and become a £450 brick it if carries on. It doesn't even just cut to the home screen it shuts the whole system down!

Powerplays in the Big Bash are only 4 overs. So that's accurate and realistic. But I still don't know if the X-Factor works though, unless they patched it.

Game looks great on the Series S,but sadly since the last patch the gameplay has gone backwards, due to the wicket keeper having Scottish lumbago.Bowlers just bowling normal length deliveries and he stands there and watches it go for four, very frustrating hopefully it will be patched on Wednesday.

funny you posted this. i was playing a test match yesterday and had the exact same thing happen. if i leave the ball by not pressing anything (batsman stays still) the wicketkeeper tends to let balls pass through without any attempt to catch it. i also had byes as the 2nd or possibly 3rd biggest contributor in the scorecard.

There are two kinds of leave in cricket...

would be interested to know what your custom settings are. If you changed “ Pace bowling speed max “ it effect the balls trajectory and you will have a lot of byes. If you want the ball to come quicker leave pace bowling speed max at 50 and ONLY change “Pace bowling visual speed” And the byes will stop.

If it was just me then fine, but clearly that has not been the case so I'm afraid the WK has to learn catching balls
