Cricket 22 General Discussion thread (Use bug report thread for issues/bugs/crashes | Patch notes in first post)

How will this game get fixed if those of us who submit tickets can’t be bothered too anymore?

How are we in a position where the batters are back to walking the wrong way to and from the crease?

I’ve come full circle from earlier games and think I’m going to stick to T10 because I can’t invest the effort/enjoyment that I just have in a Test match for it to be ruined by multiple ridiculous run outs. Even the fielding (I mean the diving) seemed to regress as the match wore on. It went from being the most real Test match that I’d played to just a load of nonsense!

Even the batting is just too easy. Admittedly I’m not on Legend or whatever the hardest is. I was gradually making Custom Difficulties harder but dropped to Hard (And all defaults) following improvements in the game. I think this was two patches ago and the suggestion on here was that the default run rate of 50 was now fine! Fiddling about again for this Test so was somewhere between Veteran and Legend (Physics made harder too) but once you get used to a few quicker ones it becomes Arcade again. Which is a shame because some of the drives I played were hugely satisfying. Level 4 out of 5 should be harder though.

I’ve stuck up for this game and asked for a few things to be corrected, got branded a Little Timmy (Possibly for a tongue cheek celebration of coloured towels or possibly for a perfectly reasonable suggestion)… can you tell? I’m hurting!

I’ve had so much fun on these games but the few hours I just put into a Test with all my own created players and kits wasn’t worth it…

Still, I’ll come back, create a team of some sort and go on some epic T10 World Tour!

Oh, and somebody just sent me a link to an old Graham Gooch game. It looked pretty good… if a little leg side dominant!
I can't even play the game at the moment as it keeps crashing and turning my xbox off. I've raised a ticket but they've not said they're working on it or anything. It's pretty disgusting really.

Ironically, you make some good points, Silly Point. We all so much want this game to be what it has come so close to becoming: A Very Good Game. What is so confusing is how it improves and then, all of a sudden, undoes all its good work and re-introduces an immersion-breaking glitch. We have gone back to almost completely inept wicketkeepers who let through byes and drop easy catches then perform unnatural runouts.
Call me naive, but I am keeping faith one more time in this weeks patch.
The triumph of hope over experience.
C'mon BA, you can do it!

The February 24/2 patch was great, game was fun, fielders weren't diving for the Olympic gold medal for no reason.

For some reason all my play faced players I’ve downloaded have gone to non play faced, any ideas why guys? Or has it happened to anyone else?

This happened to me with C19. Don't know what caused it. Even downloading them again didn't fix it.

One time I encountered a bug in Cricket 19 where some of the licensed players (post Carnival DLC) like Faf du Plessis, Liam Livingstone, Quinton De Kock, Rashid Khan and Mohammed Nabi reverted back to the playfaced versions that I downloaded from the academy as opposed to their new generic licensed appearances once the DLC went into effect. I do not know how it happened, but I was happy with it for a while, until the problem fixed itself when I restarted the game.

// That's why i stopped reporting tickets and has given a break to this game which has broken basics even after 4 months. What i think BA has own priorities and they damn bother what tickets reported to them and saying. Might be people atm in team praised a lot this c22 like game is more than perfect so they hardly accept any bug instead a feature.

Feb end patch was better among all but unfortunately last one brought bugged basics again.

I played about 50 overs with the ball last night, and it was Clint Eastwood time, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly!

The good was that I saw a really nice variety of dismissals. There's a good cricket game in here, it can be had. The previous patch I've found the most enjoyment with, and only parts of that patch have been chipped away with the most recent release. Does make me apprehensive for this week's patch, I'll not lie.

Last night I had a catch at 2nd slip off a spinner, and I had the AI caught off a drive by my fielder at short mid on. Yes, no typo. Short mid on. Never seen that before.

Oh, and a really nice AI run out, AI batting, and me on fully auto fielding. Just looked authentic, I really enjoyed it.

The bad was the fielders diving out of the way of balls that are going towards them, that is becoming increasing tiresome. That animation is massive risk/reward. When it fires right, it looks brilliant. When it does, it looks glaring.

An AI batter who reached green confidence hit me for either five or six sixes in his innings once he'd passed 30. He'd just wait a few balls of each Chris Woakes over then dump him over cover, he did that the most, and one over point. I get that it can happen in cricket, but it really did look a bit jarring as it was pretty much the only way said batter went about scoring runs until he got out in the 70s.

The ugly was this:

It's the first time I've seen this on Cricket 22 I think. I've seen it on previous BA games and it makes me sad indeed. Everything about is just yuck. That's about the best way I can bring myself to describe it.

Hi guys I am playing on patch before the last. Set the pitch to hard dry day 4 with heavy cracks. When game starts it looked like perfect one day deck with nothing visually to say it looked like day 4 .

I won the toss and elected to bowl and so happy to get a wicket early when the batter slashed to gully. I thought finally I can see the reward for bowling since then I had second wicket partnership lasting over 220 runs in two days.

I have had few close chances but nothing to show for bowling consistently either with pace or spin. Can someone tell me when do you change the direction of the ball where it lands whether outside off or straight or leg side. No matter how well I mix up deliveries bowling from wide to straight line AI manages to defend or whack me over covers or square leg.

Does L1 and R1 work for quicks or I can only use after touch to change the length. I checked gamerpradosh tip for spin bowling was to select what delivery and then press r1 or l1 and then select I want the ball to loop or go flat. Is that still the right thing to do.

Sorry for the long post! Please guide me. I have bowled like 100plus over and don’t have anything to show for

I have made my peace with it. Can't beta test for this game anymore.

I am gonna wait for tomorrow's patch and see what improvement they have done to the AI.
If the game isn't good enough, I am just gonna leave a negative review on steam and move on.

Checkout keeper catch no 6 :)

You can use aftertouch UP or DOWN for changing lengths as well as L1 R1 ;)

I thought that catch looked OK. The ball was moving towards leg and the batter showed early signs of the sweep.

This is indeed ugly, but there's worse that you can't even keep a short leg or any silly fielders in front of the batsman because he just doesn't know how to play to square leg or fine leg without lobbing everything up which spoils all those 'rare' genuine bat pad moments..
