Cricket 22 General Discussion thread (Use bug report thread for issues/bugs/crashes | Patch notes in first post)

I'm playing as an bowling all rounder in india domestic. After bowling 1730 balls in a season in 8 different matches, my team was at 5th in the table.

Was disappointed that I couldn't make it to the finals. But like the father who gives a candy to his crying kid, BA understood my emotion.

No team from pool A makes to quarter finals.
5 teams from pool B makes to quarter final.
2 teams from pool c makes to quarter final.
1 team from pool D makes to quarter final.

Thanks BA, thank you so much for ruining the experience of playing a hard fought league. Ask your boss to keep blocking more of us. It will solve the issue.
I think I will wait 6 more months before I start my career mode

The AI batsmn struggles against yorkers. I mean big time. If you keep bowling yorkers outside off with a good field, you can easily limit them to within 6 RPO. I did a lot of experiments with this to be sure about what I am talking about.
I am talking about LEGEND AI with Striker timing pushed to 100 and bowling at HARDEST. I think for now the only option is to hide the HUD from the screen altogether.
(I wish I hadn't known about this because as much as I try to avoid it if it comes to defending 5 runs off the last over I know what I have to do)

It was like this on Cricket 19, the AI doesn't really have the way to counter such a tactic because they remain in place and don't move around the crease like a real player would. When it is too easy to hit certain line and lengths that are essentially exploits.

I don't hide the hud (I like to pick the deliveries) but I don't look at it and use the bowler's movement as my trigger for controls. Been doing this since at least Ashes Cricket. If you're bowling wide Yorkers it can at least mean some of them are more realistically going to end up missing the line.

I see. Yes some of them goes for wides and some of the hits by AI goes for 6es, but in general most of them are dots or edges to wk or short third man. Maybe in future we can see the AI actually move around the crease, going for scoops, switch hits etc? Like they have done with stepping out against spinners..not sure if I’m right, but I haven’t seen the AI hit a scoop / ramp shot so far

Alternately, you can put the AI to set the field for you, then you have to bowl accordingly. Just a thought. I don't see AI batting or bowling mimicking a real player in coming future, so better not to use the exploits. While you are bowling keep the standard fields and while batting do not move around the crease much to exploit gaps.

I can set standard fields, no problem with that. But wide yorker is a standard delivery extensively used by most international teams to limit the batting team- especially in death overs, these days.
So realistically I don’t think “not using” the yorkers are an option.
Anyway I just found out abt it by accident while bowling with Bumrah. As bumrah is a yorker specialist I bowled an entire over of yorkers ..which is realistic.. in t20 cricket. Thats when I got to know about it.
Not bagging on the game or anything.. yes it would be nice if we can have the AI batter move around atleast once or twice just to create that doubt in bowlers mind. Like they did with stepping out against the spin

Yes even if we select Spring/Reduced or default , it's always Sunny. 4 to 5 patches before it was well implemented. These recent patches removed weather variations.
It really makes no sense. I'm still not over Mike Merren's pre-release interview where it sounded like the weather had a huge overhaul. We basically just got thicker clouds and darker lighting when cloudy. I still have not seen actual rain. Cricket 19 was somehow actually better in this regard ironically.

I’ve not seen rain as yet has anyone lost any play time due to rain etc ?

Matt answered this a while back, there aren't any rain delays in the game - was a game development and design choice. There is rain in-game but its very faint, looks like the C19 rain but with opacity cranked up.
