Cricket 24 - General Discussion

Two questions:
1. Is custom stadium pitch wear still broken?
2. Does changing settings during a match take immediate effect, or do you have to exit and re-launch?
Pitch wear in custom stadiums is still broken. I think the slider settings do take effect as soon as we change it. I never had issues regarding that

i've always left it on auto fielding so im not bothered. also no overcast, is that the only difference from Cricket 22 then??
Fielding is really good in C24, not flawless but major improvement from C22. Games looks beautiful as well. Having said that new iteration of the game will be releasing this year as well

Thanks. Im just thinking about how long each game takes to become playable. probably release just before ashes but will likely be more months before its any good as always. so If I buy now for £15 I could probably get a year out of it?

I'm in the same boat as you except I used the PlayStation extra tier and got it for free essentially. Outside of the academy being unbearably bad to navigate and having to filter out teams ported from 22 due to skewed overalls I actually find it a lot better than cricket 22. It depends what that 15 quid is to you, but if you have it to spend id just get it because who knows when 26 will be as good

That is very true, also Ross promised more updates to C24. I think you should get the game.

thanks those who gave advice. i got it and having good fun. made a few slider adjustments after seeing some other comments and made 345-5 in 50 overs vs NZ, who are currently 102-1 off 20.
think the fielding is as good as we've ever had in a cricket game (few glitches here and there). seems like less forced boundaries at the end of the over, and one of those was how i got the wicket.
my only gripe so far was the really random leg side sweep/scoop/shovel shot which would often hit the batter in the chest when trying to play a simple leg glance. haven't got out to it yet but only a matter of time but would always be a dot ball.
hopefully when I implement some decent sliders it should be a lot of fun!

Depending on how you like your sliders (obviously very subjective), I'm using a set from a guy called Cricket With a Controller on YouTube and having really good fun with them. I think a few guys have listed sets in here but I can't be bothered going through 800 pages or using the search for it now that I have my sliders set I'm going about trying to work out the academy, I will probably download Slugs teams and do some stuff with the 2011 teams . Does anyone know if the slider settings for pitches carry over from 22? May need to refer back to rumples sheet
