Cricket 24 - General Discussion

If you aren't expecting one of these graphics a day or two into the first Ashes test, then I would have to question your sanity:

As expected, on time release of full content is not possible for BA every time for some reason or the other :crylaugh:. Inspite of this delay, am sure Rubgy 24 will get released with tons of bugs.

Still (Rugby 25) comfortably the worst game I’ve ever played. I fire it up now and again after several patches to see if it’s approaching playable, and it’s not in the same dimension.

A disgrace and an embarrassment

Any word how PRO TEAM will work? Imagine most of it would be 20/20 or even 10 over game duration wise? To have challenges in 50 over and test matches would be quite challenging for people time wise.

There's some signs of life but in true Big Ant fashion their rapid patching and shocking QA means once we get a half decent update it lasts 3 days before they break it.

I rebought it on xbox as the graphical issues I've had on PC are doing my nut in. But what that team needs to do is stop churning patch after patch, sit down and watch the last few World Cups so they can get an actual gauge on what the sport feels and plays like.

So what do we think we're getting tomorrow? I'm a latecomer to the game but it's been the only game Ive played for the past 2/3 months since I've gotten back into cricket. I think the game is decent and playable except for the academy. I'm hoping that is fixed but I highly doubt it will be.

Pro team does pique my interest given that I was a fan of ultimate team on FIFA for years. I don't play the AFL game where pro team is used so I have no idea how this will be implemented but Im willing to give it a go.

If it's only Pro Team, it's completely lost on me. It's not my sort of thing, but that goes for FUT in FC/FIFA as well. I'd love to see some meaty improvements to the core game itself, like the AI (batting, bowling and fielding) and the academy issues. I can't imagine there will be big changes to the core at this point, given Cricket 26 is probably out this year. That and they appear to be adding even more work with AFL 26, the unnamed rugby league game, Cricket 26, and trying to drag Rugby 25 into a worthwhile state.

I hope it all works out, but I do fear for the quality of what is to come, given the issues we've seen over the last couple of years.

Just downloaded the patch on PS5 and stuck at main screen saying a new version of the game is available, please update and restart the game.

I've already updated the game though...any ideas @MattW

Worst patch ever 9 over modes are stupidity.
Don't waste ur time and money launching this type of stupidity.
Learn or deliver at least 50 percent fron fifa ultimate team atleast
T10 T20 missing.
Same team jersey colour different of players what a joke.

After patch graphics has been a let down in PS5 something is wrong flickering issue with batsman body and umpire ross head not interested in pro teams any more fix the graphical issue at least.

It will be an unpopular opinion, but my first thoughts are that they've done a decent job with pro team. Sadly this is the way sports games have gone to monetise the game and if in the long term it improves the overall gameplay then it's a positive.

I know it isn't for everyone but if they improve the mode and people spend money on it (I won't and never did on FIFA) then hopefully it improves the actually gameplay down the road. I'll remain optimistic for now!

I like the 9 overs match concept , it's literally a double wicket mode but with whole team , nice innovation.

Would have been great if it was 8 overs with 4 batting pairs instead , it's challenging to bat with no.7 and no.8 and will give you an option to either bat safe or try to hit out. and two bowlers should bowl 2 overs 4 bowlers can bowl 1 over each.
8 overs game would have been much nicer.
