Cricket 24 - General Discussion

I can confirm on C24, there is cloud formation happening again on English grounds, (but there is no explicit option to set it cloudy).
No not at all, it's always sunny weather with irritating shadows in cricket 24, even EA cricket 2004 and Ashes cricket 09 are best games of all time

Cricket 24 only for licences and Pro team with bad gameplay, cricket 19 good gameplay but bad player bodies (models) like big heads and tiny bodies

I can go on and on about how AC09 lighting and weather was!

Big Ant please introduce proper lighting and overcast for new game.

I was wondering if anyone can help. Test cricket is my preferred format but I struggle to find time to play a full 5 day test

Does anyone have similar issues and creates a different match type? If so, what settings do you use?

Any recommended sliders for it would be hugely appreciated too

They will give you Pro team, IPL licenced teams, playfaces for sure. You play with provided teams anywhere with irritating Sunny and shadows always without OVERCAST weather forever in BA cricket games. Those who want overcast or rainy weather better to keep away from buying the new game.

I too don't have the time so I just play a session or 2 in a sitting. Keeps yourself fresh and also allows you to not drive yourself mad with the bullshit the game throws at you.

Ashes Cricket 09 ironically probably the best cricket game physics and in-game condition wise. The camera was great too. Shame there was absolutely no modding scope or a career mode.

Hi Buddy, Clouds are forming in the sky as I have said earlier, it is diminishing the sun's brightness, but the clouds are not strong enough to block the sun off completely. I don't think we will get it in this iteration of the game, I hope BAnt brings it for C26. Secondly there is no way to ascertain a cloudy sky, it comes very randomly.

Anyone have any good sliders or guide to using the sliders for tests? I changed the pitch settings from medium to hard for the third FWT test in my tour and got smacked around by Lara and Adrian Griffith of all people so at least the Windies are scoring runs but it would be good to fine tune it.

Got them playing ….

Got to bowl HUD off though and your release window small.. less wicket taking deliveries and you got to nail it.

With the release of Wouldy's new Blobset tools, I now see how this works...or doesn't work properly!

The opacity/translucency of the shadows aren't really configured very well. There is a setting for this in the 'dynamicenv_weather.lua' script, but each state isn't very different from that last, hence doesnt appear to work. The states (Fine, Rain, Overcast, PartlyCloudy and Cloudy) aren't even synced up with the seperate cloud cover animation system we see in the sky, but there's nothing we can do about that bit.

The Shadows are fixable though and it appears to be so basic a fix that its astounding again that the Developers haven't managed to take all of our feedback...and like many of you I'm sure, I've logged a ticket with them on numerous occasions. In fact I remember doing the same during Cricket22's lifespan and they finally fixed that with the very last patch.

After a few tests I've managed to change the ground shadows in Cricket22. Now I know the problem lies with C24, but the files are exactly the same, in fact the scripts are in a folder called Cricket24, so they were obviously working on the next game when c22 was released.

The caveat currently however is when repacking the scripts and rebuilding the blobset with Cricket24 (in wouldy's new tool:-https://github.com/Wouldubeinta/Blobset-Tools)
the game hangs and crashes on the intro for me (works fine for C22 tho for whatever reason). So I'm unable to see if this works in C24. I think it probably will because once you unpack the scripts and decompile them in both games, they are exactly the same, so I have no reason to believe that this will not work in the same way.

Now if someone else here can run a test extracting the files, make a change, repack scripts and rebuild the blobset and see if there game crashes too on the Cricket24 intro text then it's more than likely a error or bug in Wouldy's Blobset tools and perhaps we can contact him and he'll provide a fix.

It's either going to be that, or it's going to be so much recycling from previous games that they have little new to work on and therefor hit an Ashes deadline with a near-identical product.

Can't say either option is particularly enticing, tho I'm still pondering which legacy issue I feel is still likely to be in Cricket 26 that really shouldn't be:

1) Overpowered spinners
2) Comical fielding
3) Career mode doesn't work/scheduling is a mess
4) Academy crashes, or just not working at all
5) Stadium issues, 4s and 6s not registering, camera angles that get blocked off, or players just walking through stands.
6) Wicket keepers catching insane cut shots, but also....
7) Useless keepers not stumping anyone
8) AI bowling to left handers

Feel free to add your own...
