You do know i will get you back into playing it(Already have)

Nice detailed commentary there, Bad start for Surrey though, good luck.

...Welcome back. Surrey have just lost their first wicket, that of Ali Brown. Lets take a look at the replay Ian...

(replay)

Yeh just played all around that yorker. Great swinging delivery from Jon Lewis. I'm sure Lewis is happy with that, and will probably hope to impress some of the England selectors today.

Yes, brilliant delivery from Lewis there. Ali Brown maybe not expecting it after hitting the first ball for four. A big wicket, always nice to get one early.

In comes Mark Ramprakash. The veteran, coming back after a tough time with England. Why has he never played well for England, and yet always seems to be one of the best in county cricket?

I dunno. I'm not sure even Mark knows. He is good enough to be a great international cricketer, but has just never followed his potential. Maybe a mental thing. I'm not sure.

Ok Lewis in from the Pavilion End. He bowls to Ramprakash, who gets a yorker again from Lewis. This time Ramprakash digs it out and there is no run. Lewis back to his mark and he steams in again. It's a full toss outside off, but Ramprakash misses out on that loose delivery by Lewis. Lewis certainly getting some swing here and he runs in again. That's a beauty of a delivery and that beats the bat and through to Russell. The final ball of the over. Ramprakash digs out the yorker. And that ends a successful over for Gloucestershire.

It's going to be Smith again to bowl the 3rd over. Newman on strike, and that's a loose shot from Newman. A play and a miss there.

Poor shot! You have to let the ball come to you on hard and bouncy pitches and he's just gone after that. He may want to force the bowling, but he can only do that if he hits the ball!

Smith up to the wicket and bowls, a cover drive from Newman but not timed at all and there's no run. Newman to face again. Oh dear, what a bad shot from Newman. He's just come down the track and wafted at it. Not a good shot at all.

See now this is where Surrey miss Butcher. Very poor shot selection so far from Newman!

4th ball now and this is played down the ground and Newman gets a single for it. That brings Ramprakash on strike. Smith in again and that hits Ramprakash on the pad and there is no run. Last ball of the 3rd over and Smith bowls. That's blocked into the leg side and they take a quick single. End of the over. The score is 10/1 off 3...

Great Start by Gloucestershire and Jon Lewis,Great presentation mate:)
Keep it up.

Nice commentry is going on Trev, Surrey playing really bad ,they must be missing thier skippy Butcher ,hope they can overcome it and post a challenging total

Wow..Lewis coming up with many yorkers ;) England selectors will be pleased for sure!

Btw, i have also wondered myself many times, why Ramprakash doesn't get selected in Tests for England :p He is one of my favourite players.

Loving the commentry style presentation.. Keep up the great works!

Surrey could have done without losing that early wicket!
this is a good idea. I like the commentary ;)

It is Lewis to bowl his 2nd over and the 4th over of the innings. Ramprakash is the man facing. Ramprakash waits, Lewis bowls it and Ramps hits that to mid on. Oh there's confusion wether to go here and Newman will have to hurry back. The throw is over the stumps and Lewis takes off the bails. The umpire has called for the 3rd umpire. I think this is very tight Ian.

My first gut feeling was he was in. It looked like he just made it in time. But lets have a look at the replay

(replay)

Yes just in, although bat is close to the line. Lets see what umpire gives David...

(3rd Umpire's Decision: NOT OUT)

Very close indeed and that mix-up almost cost Surrey their second wicket. In the end he is home, a lucky escape for the Lions. Lewis into the crease again and bowls this one on off stump. It's blocked away by Ramprakash and there's no run. Lewis has certainly found a good line and length here. He runs up again and this one is on middle stump and flicked away for just a single.

Newman must pick up the runs now. With the score at 11/1 from 3.3 overs, I would of expected them to start with a bang on a good pitch. Lets see if Newman will try and play a few shots now.

Well I think he's listened to you Ian! He has an almighty slog at that ball outside off and has missed completely. I think he is going to try and get after the medium pace of lewis. This ones a bit shorter and on middle stump. Again a huge heave at that one and again missed. It hits the pads and there is no run. Lets see if he has another go at this one. Lewis in again and this one is a good line and just blocked by Newman. An eventful over but a good one from Gloucestershire's point of view. Only 1 from it. 11/1 from 4 overs.

Newman was indeed lucky :p Surrey is really playing bad . I m loving this commentry system .Nice story and excellent presentation Trev :clap

Smith about to bowl the 5th over to Mark Ramprakash. He pitches this one on a good length. That's bounced a bit and flown past the bat. Brilliant ball from Smith there.

Yes a good bit of pace and bounce from Smith. Ramprakash had that one jump at him and go across him. Tough to face balls that are doing both.

Smith again left arm over the wicket. He bowls, that's placed into the gap on the leg side for a single. That brings Newman onto strike. He hasn't got many runs very quickly so far and we could tell he was getting frustrated last over. Lets see if he goes after the bowling again here. Smith bowls that one full and Newman swipes at this. He doesn't get hold of it and it looks to be going safe over midwicket's head. 2 runs there and you deffinately get a sense of what Newman is trying to do here.

Yes, I feel he is getting frustrated and wants to force the pace. I just hope he either gets hold of some or decides to try and stay for a long period of time and build a solid partnership. If he wants to go after Smith and Lewis he must pick the correct areas to hit them.

Smith to Newman again, this time Newman comes down the track and it misses the edge by a whisker. Newman living dangerously. 5th ball of the 5th over, that's on middle and off, a good line and length. Just blocked into the off side and there is no run. Final ball of the over and it's pitched full. Newman tries to guid it down to 3rd man, but that's leapt up and bounced over the bat. Some extra bounce here for Smith and the score is 14/1 from 5.

Gloucestershire are bowling very tightly here.
Keep this up mate:)

So 14/1 after 5 overs, with Newman and Ramprakash at the crease. Lewis will be bowling the 6th over and Ramprakash on strike. 1st ball of the over is sent down and that's just pushed back to mid off for no run. Lewis really does look in good rhythm Ian.

Yes David! He is finding good areas on this bouncy pitch and the batsman have found him hard to score off. I can see Lewis either taking the most wickets or being the most economical in this match.

Lewis in again and Ramprakash goes after this one but he plays across the line and it is missed. I just hope this slow run rate does not make Ramprakash try and think he must hit out. If they can build a steady partnership and keep wickets in hand then they can hit out in the last 10 to 15 overs. That's a fuller ball and drilled straight at cover. Lewis bak to his mark and he comes in to bowl again. That is hit to mid on. No run.

This over is looking like another tight maiden. Just not good batting by Surrey. They must look for singles rather than trying to smash the ball all over the park!

Final ball of the over and that is flicked to wide fine leg. 1 run from the over and it is 15/1 from 6 overs...

Wow.. Its a very slow batting.. They shd remember the policy of rotation of strikes in cricket ;) Someone needs to trigger these two fast.. Nice work Trev!

I think the batsman get to be reminded that this is a limited over match :laugh this is more than of a test match :p nice work Trev. I am loving this commentery :)
