OK - so I haven't really read up much about FIFA (or Pro Cricket) player card system, but it's an interesting idea. Here's my take on how it would work in Cricket Heroes:
- when the system goes live it will create a distribution of player cards, each with a value in tokens. Low rating players are more likely to appear, so there could be 100x Brendan Taylors, whereas you might only have 5x AB de Villiers
- when you create an account on the system, you will be given a random distribution of 11x players and will be able to swop out 4 players for others with similar ratings (but not necessarily the same skills, i.e. you could swop out a seamer for a spinner, or a top-order batsman for an all-rounder)
- your account will have an ELO rating - this will determine how many tokens you get on winning (or drawing, if your opponent is higher ranked)
- to play a match, you select a player from a list of available players (there's a cool-down after each match) - your opponent will be controlled by the computer
- once the match is over you are awarded tokens on winning or drawing against a higher ranked opponent
- you can purchase new players in the player store using your tokens or you can trade players with other people
Would something like this work? Is there any interest in something like at all? Or is it a waste of time?
