████, I've fallen to 67/4 now. Cowan edged McKay behind to Wade for 1, Cosgrove just got out for 32 after edging Hastings straight to Dussey at third slip, and Bailey and Birt both got out of edges of McKay and Hastings respectively for 20 and 13 respectively. Lockyear and Paine at the crease now.

Bowling:

Siddle 7-2-19-0
McKay 7-1-23-2
Hastings 4.5-0-21-2
McDonald 4-1-4-0

----------

And Paine is bowled for a golden duck. ████.

Brett Geeves looks good though. We're now 119/8. Faulkner made 27 before he was trapped in front by Holland but now it's up to Geeves and Hilfenhaus.

I think this is the best time I've had batting. It's been difficult and you need to focus. You still need to make playing legside shots easier. I've only played one pullshot this innings and I nearly got out of it.

----------

You need to redo the times again. I got through 43 overs before lunch :p

And no, I think it's fine. most of my edges have been off backfoot cover drives which is probably right but once you make playing legside shots easier, it should be fine.

@hedger: That's good news then :) Regarding the leg side shots - is it too tough to time?

----------

@hedger: Are you skipping the bowler running back to his mark by any chance? I forgot to update the time when that happens :) How can the leg side shots be made easier? Are you missing the ball at the moment or is it not being timed correctly? Would it make it easier if there was some kind of icon or something that indicates whether or not the batsman will reach the ball to play into the leg side?

is it too tough to time

It's too tough to hit the ball. And pull shots are impossible to play along the ground or even probably hit the ground until it reaches the inner circle line.

And I've done pretty well, I've fought back to 161/8, Brett Geeves 35* off 70 and Hilfenhaus 23* off 61. It's a 54 run partnership now. Anyway, I'm off to bed now so I'll resume this tomorrow.

I think this has been the toughest challenge for me and I really did enjoy it. Like I said, you could make playing legside shots a bit easier to play and it would be perfect. I hope the bowling/AI batting is just as great.

----------

How can the leg side shots be made easier?

Make them easier to play. I just can't hit an ondrive now or any legside shot really. And the bowlers pretty much never bowl it down the legside anyway.

Are you skipping the bowler running back to his mark by any chance?

No, it doesn't run back to its marker anymore.

@hedger: Awesome, thanks again for the feedback. I'm going to see if I can get a new release out by Wednesday as I'm going on leave for a week from Friday. Hopefully that'll sort out most of the remaining issues with batting/bowling and the AI.

@Zohaib: I think he was playing with Tasmania?

So mainly you just have to fix the OD game with batting and bowling. (Ryobi Cup at least though). Anyway, I'll continue now.

And yes, I was being Tassie.

----------

Ok, it was way harder to bat today, seems like quitting it stuffs you up. I got out like 10 times before I decided to just not bother.

Geeves finished 38* as we made 168 all out. Holland took 5/23.

----------

Well so far, so good for bowling and AI batting. They are 50/2 now, as I just took my second wicket to get rid of Rogers. Both wickets have been caught at third slip and you find most edges get caught there so you may want to redo edges so they go probably more towards first and second slip as they seem to only go to the keeper or third slip. The only first slip catch I've seen in this update is when I edged it on the inside of the keeper and the slip took the catch somehow :p

I think it was an inside edge which beat the keeper though.

----------

Well stumps on Day 1 now, Victoria 51/2 and 117 runs behind. Rogers made 28 while Finch made 13 both opening the batting.

Bowling Figures:

Hilfenhaus 7-2-21-0
Geeves 5-2-24-1
Faulkner 2-0-6-1

The only thing I think you should work on a bit is quick singles. They do take them occassionally but when the ball rolls out to a deepish midoff or cover, they barely ever run whereas I do every time :p

And maybe decrease the likelihood of boundaries a tiny bit as there has been 10 boundaries in their 51 runs.

----------

And Dave Hussey falls in the first over of the Day. Tried to pull a ball not quite short enough which just popped up for Faulkner at mid wicket who took the catch and Geeves has his second wicket.

----------

And I think you really need to get rid of the dives made by fielders or make them more precise. They dive from miles away and end up getting nowhere near the ball and then have to rechase it and what should have probably been 2 is 4. They should only dive is there is a 90% chance they'll get to the ball unless it is on the boundary cause they're diving at cover and by the time they reach the path of the ball, the ball is moving slowly towards the boundary and the fielder has to run another 10 metres than he should have and it ends up costing him the boundary.

The games back in the balance at 124/5 but Hodge is still at the crease on 61* and he's hit 12 boundaries already in that.

Scorecard:

Finch c Bailey b Geeves 13 (26) - Caught third slip
Rogers c Lockyear b Faulkner 28 (39) - Caught third slip
Hodge not out 61 (71)
Hussey c Faulkner b Geeves 1 (8) - Caught mid wicket
Wade c Cosgrove b Krejza 14 (46) - Caught first slip
McDonald b Doherty 7 (24) - Bowled :p
Hastings not out 0 (2)

Yet to bat: Hill, McKay, Siddle, Holland

So Hill is the last remaining batsman.

----------

Oh yeah, forgot bowling figures.

Hilfenhaus 10-2-37-0
Geeves 11-6-34-2
Faulkner 7-0-35-1
Krejza 5-1-9-1
Doherty 3-0-9-1

----------

And Krejza strikes again, Hastings out for a duck, edging behind to Birt.

And also, you need to have an option to select who the keeper is when you have 2 keepers in your starting XI. Because at the moment, whoever is selected higher up the order keeps and fielding ability doesn't make a dfiference. Or you need to have a PT keeper option which means that keepers will keep over part time keepers but you should still have the keeper option though.

----------

And Brad Hodge goes, edging Geeves to the lone third slip (Told you you only needed him) for 86 and Victoria are now 159/8 with Hill not out on 9 and Siddle to come to the crease with only Holland still left to bat.

----------

And the quicker ball gets Hill as he edges straight into the hands of Cosgrove at slip for 15. Looks like we'll have a very close game going into the second innings.

----------

And Krejza finishes with 4/30 as Victoria are bowled out for 166, trailing by 2 runs. Geeves was strong with 3/48 but Hodge has really kept Victoria in the game.

Batting:

Finch c Bailey b Geeves 13 (26)
Rogers c Lockyear b Faulkner 28 (39)
Hodge c Cowan b Geeves 86 (103)
Hussey c Faulkner b Geeves 1 (8)
Wade c Cosgrove b Krejza 14 (46)
McDonald b Doherty 7 (24)
Hastings c Birt b Krejza 0 (4)
McKay c Birt b Doherty 1 (15)
Hill c Cosgrove b Krejza 15 (22)
Siddle b Krejza 1 (7)
Holland not out 0 (7)

Overs: 50.1
Total: 166/10

Bowling:

Hilfenhaus 10-2-37-0
Geeves 15-7-48-3
Faulkner 7-0-35-1
Krejza 12.1-1-30-4
Doherty 6-0-16-2

Even though I bowled them out for so little, I think that is probably the best time I've had bowling as well and like I said, the ways you could improve it is to reduce the amount of boundaries and have them run quick singles more often and the fielders not diving.

So it's nice to see how far the game has progressed since it's started.

----------

Hmm, I just got 4 byes and then looked at the scorecard and there was nothing in the extras.

----------

Stumps Day 2 with Tassie losing 2 late wickets to be 93/4. Bailey made 33 before getting out to Holland in his first over while Cowan made a nice 23 at the top of the order as well.

Scorecard:

Cowan c Hussey b McDonald 23 (43)
Cosgrove c Wade b Siddle 9 (22)
Bailey b Holland 33 (63)
Birt b Siddle 19 (42)
Lockyear not out 3 (14)
Paine not out 1 (2)

Overs: 31
Total: 93/4

And the byes are now showing in the extras.

Bowling:

Siddle 8-3-13-2
McKay 8-1-30-0
Hastings 7-1-23-0
McDonald 5-1-14-1
Holland 3-0-8-1

----------

Wow, the first caught and bowled. 107/5 now and I'm in trouble again...

This is going to be a very low scoring match.

I just got bowled out again for 174 so they will need 177 to win.

Scorecard:

Cowan c Hussey b McDonald 23 (43)
Cosgrove c Wade b Siddle 9 (22)
Bailey b Holland 33 (63)
Birt b Siddle 19 (42)
Lockyear c & b McKay 13 (27)
Paine c Hussey b Siddle 8 (19)
Faulkner b McDonald 30 (59) - First played on I've had and a pretty unlucky wicket
Krejza b Siddle 9 (26)
Geeves not out 22 (34) - What a game he's having
Hilfenhaus c Wade b Holland 0 (2)
Doherty c Rogers b Holland 2 (20)

Overs: 59.3
Total: 174/10

Bowling:

Siddle 16-4-29-4
McKay 14-2-51-1
Hastings 13-2-39-0
McDonald 7-1-21-0
Holland 9.3-1-28-3

Can't look into Holland's wickets much, got 2 tailenders out and Bailey's wicket, I accidently pressed a button when he just let it go so I ended up playing a shot way too early and was bowled.

And look at Geeves match stats.

38* off 77 in the first innings, 22* off 34 in the second innings and 3/48 off 15 overs with the ball in Vic's first innings.

----------

Ok, the fielding is horrendous, sorry, I have to say. They run over the ball, run back and then forward when it's coming right at them, dive for no reason and costing us the boundaries and you probably need them to run quicker. And the reactions from the point and square leg fielders aren't very quick either.

I'm just going to skip the rest of this game now as they are 43/1.

----------

Well Krejza strikes first ball to get rid of Rogers so I may as well keep going.

Ok, lost the last game cause I just decided to skip the second innings.
