I'm all set to start the 1st European Games in Baku! I've already done all the works for it, I'm just waiting for myself to complete ELNZL (1 Round & 2 Play-off matches) and the Champions League XIV (Final and some archive/stat thing). Once they end, I'll be starting this. Featuring 16 European nations. In T20 Style! You should know about this. ;)

You should probably use a re-sized version of this flag done up by either The Author or Aggz, if you're letting Ireland play as one. Or perhaps you could give Norway the boot for being a disgrace to the cricketing world, and have both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland play instead. I'm sure Author has the player lists for both those teams, even if I don't.

And I think you might find Cyprus to be a better bet than one of Israel or Sweden, assuming you're allowing players with the right passports/ancestries to turn out for the participating nations - in which case they'll be bolstered by the presence of Dom Michael and Andrea Agathangelou.

Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland shall play as one. As they did in real life.

Nopie, dopie.

Andrea Agathangelou is eligible to play for England, so let him play for England. So is the case with Dom Michael and the Dutch. Dom Michael even has an international cap from the Netherlands.

Edit: Thanks for the flag.

I'm afraid he doesn't, because he played for them as an overseas player in the CB40. Every team in that or any such competition at county level, including those from Ireland, the Netherlands and Scotland have the right to sign an overseas player just like any other domestic team participating.

If you take those into account, we'd also have Ravi Rampaul eligible for Ireland; George Bailey, Jean Symes and Luke Butterworth available for Scotland; Cameron Borgas and Shane Mott (whom I once idiotically added to the Europa Cup list) for the Netherlands and the whole world would make less sense than it already does.

Just realized how wrong I was.

How do Your Europa Cup lists go? I was going to use those, as I can't make lists myself. And certainly not for the European countries. In those lists I saw, Jade Dernbach and Daniel Vettori available for Italy. Ben Hilfenhaus for Germany. Anton Devcich & Simon Katich for Croatia. And many more players and countries like these.

Now I'm confused. I just don't know that are players like Vettori eligible to play for countries like Italy? And if they are, then why can't we have Cameron Borgas in the Netherlands? Or, Ravi Rampaul for Ireland?

I don't want to knock the wind out of your sails, but this isn't a great selection of teams.

If you insist on having sixteen teams, go with the following:

Belgium
Croatia
Cyprus
Czech Republic
Denmark
France
Germany
Great Britain
Greece
Hungary
Rep. of Ireland
Italy
Netherlands
Norway
Portugal
Spain

If you want a really good cricket tournament, go with the following:

Croatia - (Including Anton Devcich, Dusan Hakaraia and Joseph Yovich)
Denmark - (Including Amjad Khan, Freddie Klokker and Michael Pedersen)
France - (Including Doug Bollinger, Chris Duval and Benny Howell)
Germany - (Including Craig Meschede, Ollie Rayner and Jack Shantry)
Great Britain - (Including David Murphy, William Porterfield and Mark Wallace)
Greece - (Including Theo Doropoulos, Dom Michael and Marcus Stoinis)
Rep. of Ireland - (Including Simon Kerrigan, Hamish Marshall and KOB)
Italy - (Including Gareth Berg, Jade Dernbach and Wayne Madsen)
Netherlands - (Including Tom Cooper, Vivian Kingma and Dirk Nannes)
Portugal - (Including three Cachopas, Richard das Neves and Moises Henriques)

It's not quite as open of course, but you can get really good players for each team.

Wow, thanks. Can I not go with a combined Irish team? You know, Republic of Ireland + Northern Ireland = Ireland?

Players like Vettori, Katich, Devich etc have got the right ancestral roots or EU passports as I think I've once mentioned before. I prefer to relax the eligibility rules a great deal in competitions like the Europa Cup because of cricket's sad state of affairs in most European countries.

But not to the level where I end up allowing guys like Borgas, Rampaul, Dom Michael etc to play internationally for teams they've only represented as overseas professionals in a domestic List-A competition. They have no EU passports, Scottish, Irish or Dutch heritage whatsoever, so they really shouldn't have a right to play for the teams in question in a global tournament.
