Cricket Leagues - Feedback and Suggestions

Not all simultaneously, over the next year. We don't have to do all the domestic Twenty20 leagues, just some. Let's face it, the Cricket League section will more than likely have Twenty20 leagues next year, right? We might as well organise a joined venture that ultimately have one team taking the ultimate Title?
Lack of a great "free" simulator is the reason for it, bro. Not everyone can afford to buy a subscription of Digisims

Any suggestion for a small league :)

You know what grinds my gears?

People asking for teams in a league before the sign-ups begin via PM or VM, and then not even posting on their team's performance during the league.
I know you're referring to me there! For your info, I was doing the statistics for my league....

I do get your frustration. I'm sure we all felt at some stage "why do I put all the effort & hours in" running leagues takes alot of time . What grind me is that some members are league managers themselves and they know how much work goes into running a league. Just show your appreciation by either commenting or by liking the league managers efforts even if your team isn't performing. Also, should there be something that you dislike about a certain league, PM the owner of the league stating your concern instead of throughing them under the bus.
This is not a directed at anyone in particular.

Here's my concern.

I'm not trying to brag, but regardless of how unrealistic my simulations may be, I put in effort and You can not deny that. I calculate statistics manually, most of the times I do graphics, I try all these weird stuff on the first page. I even introduced fantasy cricket into fictional cricket leagues just to make it more enjoyable. And all I want in return is the manager commenting on the thread, not even to appreciate Me or my work. Just to post their opinions on how their team performs. And if You can't do that, then please refrain from asking for that team before the sign-ups even begin. There are a lot of active managers who miss out on the team just because You played it unfair.

I really say sorry about it....

From what I have noticed, this kind of thing happens with pretty much every league manager regardless of how good or bad they are at running cricket leagues. Having gone through the same stuff time and again, I can totally understand what you're going through. There have been some leagues of mine such as LAB & ELA where I've tried my darndest at realistic simulation and calculating stats to make up for my complete lack of graphical skill. And believe me, trying to get realistic results (I mean actually realistic along the lines of real life cricket, not the unrealistic crap that some people call realistic for their own lack of simulation knowledge) via the Test cricsim is enough to give any normal functioning person aneurysms.

The lukewarm response from some people or sometimes the complete lack of it has always been quite frustrating at times. Especially during LAB Season V, when my Test ratings were probably at their absolute best and I was getting some truly remarkable results, the likes of which I haven't been able to produce ever since or see anyone else do it for that matter. The final was also perhaps the best I've ever presented during my time here. Yet I had to resort to stuff like this or constant VMs sometimes just to get a proper response in the thread from certain people. This was back when I was actually good at league management, and not the perennial slowpoke I am today as a result of having various other responsibilities to deal with as an adult.

But I've learned to live with it. Sometimes you've just got to admire your own handiwork rather than wait for others to do it for you. That's what keeps me going anyway, regardless of how people respond to any league of mine. My CTA Olympics is proof enough of that. I haven't always got the kind of response I've hoped for, though that has changed a bit in recent seasons, but I've never cut back on the quality of matches, stats bundles and various other stuff in the league. And I'm quite pleased with everything I've managed to do in that thread.
