Cricket Leagues - Feedback and Suggestions

Wow, what the hell was happening in the LOTM. :p

I leave for a few weeks and hell breaks lose here ;)

there's another problem, some players have bowled 13 overs, some 10

and another problem, some players have played 2 innings and some 5 so there batting averages vary.

so what should i do now??

Don't use averages!!!

Just rate them on HOW MUCH domestic cricket they've played, and the ones that've played NO domestic cricket rate them the same.

So e.g. someone how has played a lot of DOM matches before he's 19 is going to be much better, than someone who's just played 1, no matter what their averages are.

You can only use averages if both players have played at least 30 or more games, even then I wouldn't trust them.

Averages are completely pointless, when dudes have played 1 - 10 games, as one innings will just inflate it a lot.

Arguably though, if a player scores a century or takes 5-wickets on debut they can be considered reasonably good.

Yeah, fair enough.

TBH I wouldn't even use averages at all, I'd rate most of the players more or less the same as few of them would have played DOM cricket, then all the ones who've played DOM cricket I'd give a decent boost based on how well they've gone.

Did you read what I said?

Just rate them on HOW MUCH domestic cricket they've played, and the ones that've played NO domestic cricket rate them the same.

You have to test it out yourself, and see what averages work best. ;)

I'd give him a generic rating that would be used for all all-rounders that haven't played domestic cricket. Say 25, 35.
