Cricket Leagues - Feedback and Suggestions

I have seen many brilliant leagues having a rating of 2.8 or something like Meet's league and Varun's league. And the best (mine) league also has an average of 2.7 stars

Just informing you guys I'm not going to run a LOTM this month.
A mixture of I'm a bit short of time in RL with pretty important exams next month, and what happened last month.
Feel free to run it if you want Hedger.

My exams end very late November, so hopefully I'll be able to run a LOTM November right at the end of the month.

Ok. I'll try and run it.

Use your own ideas. Best example is Varun's league. He has implemented his ideas sooo well. A succesful league is a well planned one. If planning is not good league is flop

Stop making leagues. Participate in a full season first

A lot of people are fed up with the excessive dosage of 'Premier Leagues' or the usual 'Cricsim Leagues' so,trying something new does help but unless you show some activity before you set up your league like say Dipak and Haarithan have of late, members are unlikely to take part as they'll probably think of it as 'just another of those leagues which have been abandoned after the draft or whatever'
Having said that,i know that there are hardly any vacancies in the 'established' leagues (this is where having a CCPC would have helped) but you can at least show activity by posting reviews of matches and stuff :p

Just try something new. I don't mind a bunch of premier leagues as long as you don't make another damn Indian Premier League. Premier leagues are fun but try something other than another IPL. Sri Lankan, West Indian, Bangladeshi would be interesting. IF you are heading that way.

The best way to make a successful league is by participating in other leagues for a while before creating one.
I haven't really seen you around here much, so more often than not if you start a league and you're new here it won't attract much interest.
Once you've been around here a while, you'll more likely get some ideas.

Make sure you plan out draft/auction, format, etc. before you create the thread.

I don't mind Premier Leagues at all, infact they're probably my favourite.
Like Biggy said, just make an original one.

1. Use your original ideas. Just make sure that the idea isn't the same as a currently/recently active league.

2. If you are really that keen on running the league, then manage it with you giving your best to it, not just run a league for sake of running it or getting it to be popular, but to enjoy yourself and the managers.

3. If you are in contention for a Premier league sort of thing, just try to implement some new system of rules/ideas in it which makes it unique from others.

4. Don't leave a season in middle (except in the case of an emergency or business), complete atleast one season of your league.

5. I would actually recommend you to plan whole of the league, including the fixtures, draft and everything beforehand. Believe me, it helps a lot.

If I've missed anything, just inform me.

You missed one thing. The thing which made my league popular

Don't get disheartened if people are inactive in your league, you do not get managers, Just never give up.

This and Varun's ideas will help you

Just To Inform you guys Indian Premier League Season 3 has ended and now it's time for Zimbabwean Premier League.

Same Thread after ICC World Cup 2011
