Cricket Leagues - Feedback and Suggestions

Same happened to me mate. A team where the highest batting avg is 36 reaches 377:eek:

But It was an excellent pitch and highest individual score was 110 and 4 wickets were lost

Question: If there was going to be a Champions League 4, should we keep it to 8 teams (2 each from NZPL, APL, EPL and AfPL) or include ruhul's IPL and expand to 10?

We've had no EPL action since CL 3 (technically 1 :p) which Manchester won.
So,simply replacing the two EPL teams with the IPL teams will be a good idea. :)

should probably include as many full member premier leagues there are (which are 50 overs) this way the overseas players can play for their home side, thus reducing player clashes.

Well EPL is currently drafting and so is APL, and AfPL. NZPL hasn't started their draft. IPL is also drafting although that's going a bit slow so EPL will catch up.

Yea, there's also Sri Lankan, Pakistani and Bangladeshi Premier Leagues so that would bring the number of team (based on 2 each) to 16 teams. I fear that may be too many, especially if I'm running the show because it will be my first time.

Another pain would be rating all those players. Majority of the leagues I can do but, for example, I know jack-all about Bang, Pak, or many Indian domestic players.

cricinfo is your friend ;), other than that you can ask the league managers for help with the ratings regarding those teams.

IMO, there should just be the winning team from each league participating in the champions league. thats why its called that and not champions and runner's up league.

As this is your first league, avoid having more than 8 teams and keep it short like it was the last time.

That could work. I've got plenty of time to sort things out but just getting started on it.

Hye my idea is keeping the winners of NZPL, AfPL, APL, IPL, PPL and EPL. SIz champions take on each other

Or either even keep the runners up but give the winners a slight advantage

What say guys:p

If any of the regional leagues have recently finished a season then they should probably be included. If they haven't finished a season since the last Champion's League then don't include them.

Also, if there are too many, then just have the top placed team. Or (this will be seen as prejudice) have two teams from the APL and NZPL since they are the longest running leagues by a fair distance, and one team from the others.

With regards to the ratings, it was quite helpful that the English, SAfrican, NZ and Australian domestic cricket competitions are the ones I know the most about :p Use cricinfo for the players you don't know about. Normally if you haven't heard about them give them a generic domestic player's rating, unless their stats seem worthy of a slight boost. But if you haven't heard of them their ratings shouldn't be near international player's ratings.

I think I'll have NZPL, APL, AfPL, EPL and IPL for this edition. Maybe add a few more teams as I get more experienced running a league.

Ok so do we have 10 teams or will you include only winners in some of them

Anyways, good luck Truman...

We'll do the top 2 teams. 10 teams seems like a good number. When more leagues get added in I'll limit it to the league champions only.
