Setup

Players

Turn

Everyone's turn will take place at the same time.

Firstly each team will send me a PM stating your orders. If I get two PMs from different people on the same team, I'll ignore the second one. I'll give everyone 24 hours, so if I haven't got a PM from a team by then all of their players will remain stationary that turn.

Every turn a maximum of half of your players may attack (rounded up), so:

One/two players = Max one attack
Three/four players = Max two attacks
Five/six players = Max three attacks
Seven/eight players = Max four attacks
Nine or more player = Max five attacks

The maximum attacks you can make per turn is five, no matter how many players you have.

Of course this is the maximum amount of attacks you can make, so at the beginning of the game when you have four players, you have the option to make none, one or two attacks.

In your PM you'll pretty much say I want 'A' to attack 'B', and 'C' to attack 'D'. All of your players that you don't mention will remain stationary that turn.

Combat

There are many different combat situations, and I'm not going to run through them now, rather I'm just going to explain them as they happen. This shouldn't effect you as you don't know what the other teams are going to do.

By different combat situations I mean:

One player attacks a stationary player
Two players both attack each other
One player attacks another player, who's attacking another player
Three players form a triangle, so one player attacks another player, who attacks another player, who's attacking the original player
Four different players all attack the same player

These are just a few of the combinations, and as you can see it would get a bit complicated going through them all at once, hence why I think it's best if I leave explaining them until they happen.

I will however run through the basic combat situation, which is one player attacking another stationary player. This will probably be best shown by doing an example, so here we go.

On one territory we have Shane Watson, and on an adjustment territory we have Jacques Kallis, who are probably the two most powerful players in the game.

Australia want Watson to attack Kallis, while South Africa haven't given any orders to Kallis, so it's a basic match between Shane Watson and Jacques Kallis.

The match will be 45 overs, to avoid the last over glitch cricksim has.

If Watson wins, he takes over Kallis' territory. This means Australia get to deploy another player on either the territory Watson attacked from, or the territory Kallis was on, while Watson goes on the other one.

If Kallis wins, Watson would get rejected. Kallis would stay on his territory, while Watson would stay on his, but because Watson launched the attack and failed, he'll receive - 1 off his batting average and + 1 on his bowling average.

If it's a tie, Watson would get rejected, but he wouldn't receive the average reductions.

Fortifying

Once I've posted all the results, you'll be able to fortify your players positions.

Pretty much you'll be able to move around any of your players, provided they're on adjacent territories.

You'll also state any bonuses in this phase, refer below to the bonuses section.

Bonuses

You'll receive bonuses from conquering whole continents, winning matches, and controlling territories.

These only apply to your player, not the randoms/keeper making up your XI.

Conquering whole continents:

Asia (You pretty much win the game, because if you conquer Asia you only need another three territories)
+ 3 to all of your batting averages

North America
+ 2 to all of your batting averages

Europe
- 2 to all of your bowling averages

Africa
- 1 to all of your bowling averages

Oceania
- 1 to all of your bowling averages

South America
+ 1 to all of your batting averages

Every three matches you win, you'll be able to give one of your players a + 1 batting average boost and a - 1 bowling average boost.
These matches carry over, so you don't need to win three matches on the same day.

If this applies to you, you'll state which player/s you want to give this boost to in the fortifying phase.

For every five territories you control (rounded down), all of your players will receive a + 1 batting average boost and - 1 bowling average boost.

0 - 4 territories = No boost
5 - 9 territories = + 1 batting average and - 1 bowling average
10+ territories = + 2 batting average and - 2 bowling average

Other players

The ten territories not selected in the draft will start the game being occupied by players outside the major eight teams.

I'll randomly allocate them to the 10 remaining territories, before I get you to PM your four stating players and on what territories you want them to start on.

They'll just be normal players, except they can't attack anyone. To take over their territory you'll have to beat them normally.

As the lesser teams thrive on confidence, if they start winning they'll get some decent average boosts.
If they win their first match and every second win after that, they'll get a + 1 batting average boost and a - 1 bowling average boost.

The ten players are:

Mohammad Nabi - Afghanistan

Shakib Al Hasan - Bangladesh
Mahmudullah - Bangladesh

John Davison - Canada

Kevin O'Brien - Ireland

Thomas Odoyo - Kenya
Steve Tikolo - Kenya

Ryan ten Doeschate - Netherlands

Elton Chigumbura - Zimbabwe
Sean Ervine - Zimbabwe

That's the last update I have, so if you have any questions about anything, now's the time to ask.

Callum, i was reading through the post about the players on the page before this and noticed that you said we might want to keep our best players until later on. Is this because there are only a limited amount of times that we can use a player? Or is there another reason?

I don't mean keep all of your best players until later on, I was saying instead of playing your four best players straight away, you might want to keep one/two of them in reserve.

This is because once a player dies you can't bring him back, so if your four best players are your four starting players and they start dieing, the quality of the players that you bring in when you win is going to make you weaker and weaker, so it may be wise to hold one/two of your best players until later on.

E.g. Say your best player is 1, second best 2, third best 3, and so on.

If you start with players 1 - 4, and you lose them all in your first few turns, they're gone for the rest of the match.

While if you start with 1 - 2 and 5 - 6, and you lose a couple of them in your first few turns, you've still got 3 - 4 to bring in.

Of course as I'm making up these rules I'm only guessing what I think will work best, so ideally most of you will try different tactics in order to see what works best.

Well Dan isn't on and hasn't given me a message or anything but I don't think he'll complain with my pick.

Oops sorry for the hold up. But yeah, happy with that pick Hedger.

Since I picked last round, I'd like Rahul to use his experience and pick for us.

Next round starts, as Rahul and Varun both came online but didn't pick.
Sorry guys, but I don't want to wait another 24 hours.
Not to mention Rahul was even online after you said what you did Varun, and it's not up to me to send him a VM to check the thread.

So Rahul/Varun, Jono/Riz and Iridium are all up.
