Mahwire has got the breakthrough with the score at 11 dismissing Graeme Smith, the South Africa captain, for 6 in his 2nd over.He had been pitching it full and on off stump most balls and then dropped one shorter and outside off stump.Smith went after it and got a thick edge which was safely caught at gully by Chigumbura.
Hershelle Gibbs has looked solid and will look to push the runs while Boeta Dippenaar will lokk to be the rock of the South African innings.
Zimbabwe are on top in the 1st session of the first test in Johannansberg. They have taken the crucial wicket of the South African captains Graeme Smith and have had a few chances to get rid of more of the South Africans.Mahwire and Mpofu have both bowled with pace and fire to put the South Africans on the back foot. There was a near run out With Dippenaar miles out his crease but it missed by a whisker. And Gibbs has just edged one past 3rd slip but it could have been so easily taken on any other day.
It's a shock that South Africa is one wicket down so early in the match. Hopefully they can rise up to the occasion as pummel Zimbabwe down to the fires of hell.
I hope that wasn't too dramatic.
A lucky moment for Herschelle Gibbs as the ball brushes ever so close to the bat
The partnership has started to develop and Dippenaar and Gebbs are having no trouble finding the boundary on this quick and lucious outfield here in Johannesberg.Dippenaar has pushed on more than expected and has become the most run provider in the partnership.Gibbs will probablyt look to stay the whole day but expect a few fireworks on its way in this session and next.
