While they did lose Tamim Iqbal in the second over clean bowled, Alex Wakely and Usman Khawaja put together a stellar partnership. They put on 115 before Swepson skidded one through Khawaja for 51 which caused a collapse. Hain and Klaassen got top edges in the same Swepson over, before Bopara was caught LBW by a Zahir changeup next over. Wakely was yorked in the 18th over for a brilliant 78, and the tail collapsed in a heap with Talat getting a hat trick.

The Bay Area team also lost their first wicket in the second over as Philippe was run out by Hain at cover. D'Arcy Short also didn't last long, LBW to Hasan for three. From 2/21, Bravo and Dunk bedded down and added 95 in 12 overs before a lapse of concentration saw Dunk LBW off a full toss for 48. Bravo edged behind later that over and the match turned. Sanju Samson and Tanvir both lost their wickets to Saini in the 18th, and despite a charge from Mushfiqur, Talat was castled in the final over.

LA innings:
A withering early spell from Dale Steyn caused significant issues for LA. Within the powerplay he had de Grandhomme top edging to deep square leg, Virat plumb LBW, Shaun Marsh leaving the ball which clipped off, and Bravo bunting to Agar at mid on. From 4/36, Matt Short and Paine needed to rebuild and to their credit they did. After Paine was trapped LBW by Agar for 48, Curran came out and pelted Worker around until the Kiwi got his revenge when Curran missed a slower one. Short then departed for 34 and LA struggled their way to 153 through a few streaky shots from Bumrah.
San Diego innings:
Sean Abbott made things happen in the first over with a catch behind... which Paine dropped. Fortunately the mistake did not cost them much as Chandrapaul Hemraj, the dropped batsman, gave another chance to Paine the next over, which was taken well. Masood was LBW to give Bumrah two wickets in his first over, then Gayle got out identically to leave SD 3/26. Rahul got a start but became a third plumb LBW victim for 17. The withdrawal of the opening bowlers Abbott and Bumrah, though, gave Worker and de Bruyn a chance to relax and settle in, and they did. While Worker gave his wicket away with six to get, lazily driving to mid on, all six were scored from the next ball by Ashton Agar.

Despite a brave innings from Dinesh Chandimal, his Las Vegas team crashed to 127 all out. Again four early wickets fell (to Mitchell Starc this time), with Hughes picking mid wicket for 0, Root edging behind for 0, Taylor plumb LBW for 4 and Asad top edging for 6. Richardson at the other end was punished, but off the final ball of his spell he grabbed the wicket of van Zyl clipping to point. Van der Merwe settled into a defensive, support innings until he got a good cutter from Rumman, leaving LV 6/114. Unfortunately the tail showed no support and after AShwin took three wickets, Chandimal was last to fall trying to grab some late runs and picking Eoin Morgan at long off.
Seattle Innings:
Bhuveneshwar Kumar produced the dream start for Vegas as he pinned McDermott with the first ball of the innings. The WI partnership of Powell and Lewis steadied the ship until Lewis got a big top edge of Shaheen Shah's second over, being dismissed for 19. Eoin Morgan also didn't last, Dinesh Chandimal catching him behind again off Afridi. Once again a team were 3/33, but this time there was no issues as Miller and Powell combined for 95 runs to get the team home.
