Alright girl's I have a small problem. I want to set my PC to factory settings and all that blah blah re-formatting it. Now I can't do this because all of a sudden my Reformat CD has gone missing and I really don't have time to find it so two questions:

How much does it cost to buy a new one. and to buy one quick (from PCWorld or somthing)?

Is there a safe and sound way doing it on the PC I've heard of some Linux thingy will that restore my PC without damaging it later on?

Cheers.

You have neither of those 2 choices. What's the model and make of your PC. Post that first and then I will draw up a solution.

When you say model sid do you mean like: Windows XP Home Edition?

If so I'm pretty sure thats my model.....I have to go college now so I may not be able to reply, cheers.

What is the Hardware config ? Which Motherboard do u use ? Which OS are u using etc etc.

I mean the make and model of your computer. As in whether its a HP, Dell or IBM etc.

Erm system box?

Well I'm half sorted now so I guess it's okay, I'll ask here if I need some more help, and thanks sid for your concern ;)

If you need to format your main drive (C:\) and you have installed Windows on that drive (C:\) you can easily perform a format through Windows Setup Disk just insert Windows XP CD and boot through it now select Fresh Install (Don't repair) then select (C:\) it may display a message the "MS doesn't recommend to have 2 OS on same partition" skip this step now you will receive options like "leave partition intact" Format quick etc select a quick format or complete format as you wish but remember to choose correct file system.

I don't think I have a XP cd my PC came with XP but don't think it came with the CD...
