I take your word and stand corrected....however even if it is 41%.......is that an acceptable state for the game to be released in....come on....I believe you have higher standards.
It is not 41%, it is, at most, 34.7%. Further tests could only reduce this number. I have a suspicion it's closer to the 30% mark (you can play at shot to first slips face if you really wish). I think I've done an alright job of highlighting that cover basically can't be hit with standard shots. I would again refer to this diagram though:
One thing that is notable is that you can in this version play straight, which was close to impossible, and in now way safe, in the release version of DBC 14. The bowler was the best fielder on the pitch. That is still true to some extent with spinners, and that still needs to be turned, but playing straight off the back foot in this version feels great, something that was a weakness in DBC 14. The issue with the leg glace and through cover can be fixed, as well as any other shots that aren't triggering properly (e.g. the square cut, with us instead getting the 'tail ender cut'). There is potential here for batting to be even better than in DBC 14.
At some point I think it's worth taking time to consider the advantages and positives we're seeing in the game, not just the negatives. By framing the negatives properly, understanding their extent, and being able to report that accurately, we will be able to report that properly to BigAnt. Constant use of hyperbole and insulting the devs is not likely to be useful to them. If they're needing to wade knee deep through personal attacks and exaggeration of issues, it's hard for them to do anything about it. If they keep hearing "I can't hit 50% of the field", they boot up their copies and can immediately see that's false, they're just write you off as a loon.
Consider the issue, report what you think it is, and report how you think improving it will fix the game. Clearly here the issue is that we're missing two high profile shots, that we can see the AI play. Fixing it will allow us to bat closer to real life. There are equally some shots that seem to be replaced by less orthodox versions. Overall it appears something is preventing players from triggering some shots. Given time I'm sure that BigAnt will fix the issue. They have in fact noted it, and explicitly stated they've noted it a few times. The PC version is coming up, and to be honest, I expect to see this issue fixed on there before we get it on PS4 and Xbone, because it's easier to roll out fixes for PC. We'll see the reports of such fixing rolling in ideally before the end of the month, but it could be longer depending on how much time is being taken up fixing technical issues on both consoles and PC.
