Looking at the wealth of customization in cricket academy can we get 10-15 different batting stance and bowling actions so that we can assign them to different players making them more unique.

There will be different bowling actions for different kind of deliveries, but no specific assigning to different bowlers, not even the batsmen the batsman stance, they will be same too.
You should have read the Q/A thread before.

thanks for info, i mean ross is still tweaking CA with updates, we are not late for different batting and bowling actions.

He said the physics engine will determine the animation. That whatever plays in real time is determined by the engine.

hey....if possible can you please show where he said this? I think I missed this info out! It would be interesting to see in what context he said that.

Regarding batting stance & bowling actions, i remember posting a query on Big Ant cricket suggestion/wishlist thread long time back..but it was never answered.

Here I go again...I would like to see Left handed batsman/bowler's action not being exact mirror image of their right-handed counterparts. This was the case of the every cricket title we have had so far and robs us of an important game-play aspect.

In real life, right-handed players move their bodies differently while batting & bowling. I may not mind if they don't have more than 1 batting stance or bowling action, but mirror image kills half the fun, IMO.

Having said that, I'm quite looking forward to the physics engine to give me something to rave about in terms of batting stance/bowling actions.

I'm not sure I understand you Ansh.

I do no think left arm bowlers have naturally different actions to right arm bowlers. No, of course no two bowlers are the mirror image of each other but no two right armed (or left) are the same either.

For batsmen, I think there is the same case. What is important though is the stance relative to the bowler. A batsman faces up differently if he is facing a left/right bowler, over or around the wicket. All cricket games in the past have the batsman stance straight down the pitch, whereas in real life a right hander will open himself up slightly for a left armed bowler.

Okay, this won't be in the game (I'm pretty sure) and it's not a gamebreak, but it's food for thought for the next game.

^^ yup, having different stances is a great idea. Womder if this game has it...after all the other things i honestly wont be surprised to find out it is included but i hope ross doesnt spill it out now. I want some surprises to be left.

A lot of players start off with an open stance but then move into a more conventional stance as the ball is bowled. Some are minor (e.g. Clarke) and some are hugely pronounced (e.g. Katich and Lehmann back in the day). By the time they step into the conventional stance though, the animations played could be the same. There wouldn't really be any gameplay effect though.

To take it the whole way would be to have open stance players have a tendancy to nick balls outside off but be good off the legs, as an example.

IN big ants studio cricket ,the generic set of different bowling action according to runup and delivery like spin ,medium ,fast etc is fine but these generic sets should contain bowling action like high arm, low arm or slinghy etc).

dat would make bowling experience real ! appeal animation not necessary !:wave

Just to illustrate what i'm tying to suggest with a few examples,

1. How diff "a dab shot to third-man" looks when played by say Kallis as compared to Gambhir
2. How diff "an aerial square-cut over third-man" looks when played by Jayasuriya as compared to Sehwag
3. How diff "a cover drive" looks when played by Dravid, Amla as compared to those played by Lara, Ganguly
4. How diff is the action of left-arm fast bowler like Mitchell Starc, Dirk Nannes from right-arm fast bowler like Dale Steyn or Shane Bond.
5. How diff is a classic right-arm off-spinner's action from classic left-arm spinner's action

In previous titles, we've seen how these movements have been mirror images w.r.t. right-handed & left-handed players, haven't we ?

Not sure how critical it is to implement, but at least I expect all batting & bowling actions to stay same for like-handed players while they should be different for opposite-handed players i.e. right-handed players will bowl & bat similar to other righties, left-handed players will bowl & bat similar to other lefties, but the body movement & execution mannerism should not be common for lefties & righties.

All great ideas mate but to be honest i just want the gameplay to be ace first and in future version we get this kind of options.
