Don Bradman Cricket 14 - first impressions thread

Just a quick thing in case people are glued to this thread.

Ross has stated that the AI code is set to reverse sweep the hell out of bad bowling. Its apparently their go-to shot, which will be fixed in a patch.

He was batting first and his batting was abysmal. I bowled him out for 18 runs. Then his turn to bowl came he started pulling out of runup 3 or 4 times before bowling single ball. That was so annoying but thanks to BA, the system recognised this as an act to cheat and hence first gave me pop up message which to accept my opponents defeat. When i didnt do that and the other guy continued to pull out of run up, system finished the match and gave me a win.

do you find any lag when playing online? and is there any indicator showing latency before joining the game session ?
 
Is there no way to check the pitch/weather conditions during a match? Can't find any option

We're really happy with how it's going, yeah the Career Mode issue is a bummer but not a game breaker and we will fix it asap - lets see how much I can lean on the MS & Sony guys to push it through asap.

When you press tens of thousands of disks you always worry that there might be something wrong as it's ok to patch online issues because by definition the player is online, however an offline game-breaking issue is a real problem. So far, so good.

We also know areas for improvement and are noting all that is said, this is not the end of the development as far as we're concerned, I see many a patch and improvement to come.

Hey all. New to the forums here. I am actually in LOVE with this game. The only cricket game I actually played before was Cricket Revolution and it was crap!

BTW here in Pak the PS3 street date was broken a few days ago and I'm stuck with a stupid 360 :(
 
Just out of curiousity, how will a patch work on console though? Will it simply be loaded onto XBox Live for us to download free or what?

Secondly...I dont have the game yet but watched all the videos and Im perplexed: How does bowling work? I assume the bowling meter showing "release" can pretty much be substituted with "full" or "short" so I can see how the length can be controlled by the player....but how do you select the line you want to deliver as none of the dials represent anything remotely linked to positioning the ball..

Alright guys, what you have shown us so far isn't bad, but everyone knows that the most important feature is. How do the bobbleheads look in the full game?
