Don Bradman Cricket 14 General Discussion

I've got a pretty good handle on US retail from having lived there for quite a while when working with the NFL. We've previously sold into Walmart (1M+ copies of Sprint Cars) but Cricket will never be a Walmart title.

I don't expect it will get any reviews in the US, as far as I know RLL1/2 & AFL Live 1 did not.

Were those games distributed in the US though? If the game was being sold in American stores then it may get reviewed in magazines and the like. You'd know better than me though

Americans only like games with shoulder pads and girly sports.

American football=rugby for girls
Baseball is Rounders
Basketball is Netball for tall people.

Best post by a Canadian on America! :D

The NFL players I met and worked with were the best athletes I've ever seen, simply phenomenal. Just Pittsburgh alone had 4 sub-10 second 100m runners when I was working at three rivers... and 2 of them were ~100kg...

Don't get me wrong I do watch gridiron and when I lived in California I met an ex pro who was still fit as a butchers dog, but it was fun winding em up while I worked in a bar!!! Apparently William Perry(the fridge) could run 40yards in 4.7 seconds and he was huge!!!!

Yeah... given F=MA it doesn't bear thinking about :)

How the ---- will IGN, Gamespot review this? Surely they have some Indian, Australian, English, etc. reviewers?

Okay everyone, lets all put our pigtails straight and tidy again, rearrange our handbags and carry on with being respectful to each other.....Jeez, time for another Jaffa Cake......

P.S. However bored we may be waiting for something interesting to come along, it doesnt mean we can just hijack any old thread and suddenly start talking about the speed of American Football players, true or not.......and then get in a complete and utter Morris Dance with each other.......

The Gamespot press release when the Bradman branding was announced used the Ashes 2013 burning bails video in the article.

That is the quality of reviewing you get from those big sites.

And the rest play hockey, a real man's sport ;)

Hockey is amongst the most frighteningly dangerous and violent sports I've ever seen. Second to indoor Lacrosse probably: that is terrifying.

I can't remember about IGN specifically: I don't *think* they ever reviewed AC09 or IC10. Eurogamer didn't review AC09 and had a cricket coach (who opened the review by saying he didn't like the concept of sports video games) review IC10.

Very tricky to get the top tier press to review a cricket game (particularly one with a US-centric feel like IGN). GTA has 50+ metacritic-approved reviews. I think IC10 had about 4.

It's an incredibly niche market in the grand scheme of things.

Yep I don't disagree with that!!! Anyway better stay on topic!!!

Hi Ross, off topic what did you think of the NRL final and the end of Footy season and now the start of cricket season.:spy

I would argue that the NRL season finished last week because nobody really cared about the two teams in the GF. :lol
