Don Bradman Cricket 17 - Suggestions

I'm talking about batting and bowling. I reckon I have seen only 1 or 2 overthrown and both were "reasonable" and few silly throws at the wickets

I am suggesting it is not an AI problem so much as player bowlers not returning to their wickets like they should.

The one thing I love about fielding is how if you throw the ball before the keeper reaches the stumps the fielder throws it too him. Adds so much realism as 90% of dot balls still get returned to the keeper and it's great to see. The game has something there (I didn't believe it at the start). It just needs to be ironed out and hung up to dry (and add better batting animations) and it'll be perfect!

First of all, I am loving the game. Due to poor internet I only play locally. I have noticed a few things while playing the career mode;

1. Inability to change gear after starting

I am the kind of person to get tired of playing with the same bat and whatnot the whole time, so the ability to change bats mid-career would be awesome. It might even add some realism, starting off with a blank bat and then using branded bats as you move your way through. You can already change your appearance mid career so I don't see why you cant change gear.

2. Batting Stats

The batting stats that are displayed during a match do not match my stats, specifically my high score. It currently says 35, but I have gotten 65 not out and 74 not out as well, so maybe it doesn't register as a high score if you don't get out?

3. Run Out Glitch

As the batsman, I was standing in the crease waiting for the ball to be thrown in to the keeper, and as he caught it he moved me out of the crease and ran me out. That has happened twice now, pretty frustrating.

Apart from that i am absolutely loving the game :)

Ok yup I'm going to add to the chorus. We definitely need a easier more accessible way to view my Saved Career player's accumulated career stats per category (Club, FC, OD, T20, Test, ODI, T20I,etc). Really missing this feature from DBC14 career mode. Two things I really enjoyed keeping an eye on (especially after a decent or mammoth innings or performance) was 1) see how my Selection Status was going, and 2) how my career stats were shaping up, including my average, etc, etc. Really helped to shape a narrative about how my player's career was progressing, and something to get that little tad extra excited about when returning to frontend after a decent effort. Might be a small thing, but I'm missing that lil feeling I got from this career stats aspect/display in DBC14.

Both AI and user fielding needs tightening up in my opinon. Both I and the AI have run 4 countless times and 5 several times due to the fact that when the fielder stops the ball before the rope he then proceeds to stand still for several seconds and wait for another fielder to arrive. If another fielder isn't in close proximity then he will pick up and throw the ball, but there's usually a 4/5 second delay which results in a couple of extra runs being taken.

Can we have more ODI and FC match options for career mode in other domestic tournaments?

Career player feels like T20 specialist at the moment with all the T20 leagues. It is fun as it is, but can feel monotonous at times.

Could be an option where you can select which path you want to take. Maybe something for later patches or iterations down the line.

How far are you in though?

In the last Bradman game (14), you give players individually coloured helmets...say if you didn't want to use the 'team kit'. Eg. I want my player to wear a black helmet...but there is no option to change the colour of the helmet...only to add sponsors.

You could also change the colour of their pads and gloves...

The only thing you can change the colour of is the bat and shoes, everything else you just have to pick team kit.

All i am saying, user interface is painful and it is! Here you go, video of my pain where i managed to download only 3 bats in 2 minutes. This is definitely not breezy to me.

And my request to @BigAntStudios is to consider this as serious design issue with usability and provide some solution like a shortcut key to download straight as soon as it fetches the result. In this way, its just download and scroll and download and so on. This saves bunch of time!

Thank you @BigAntStudios for fixing this issue in latest patch. That one click of going back to main search screen & having to re-download bats every time after one download of bat has been FIXED. This is also fixing the issue in turn for having to scroll all the way down from first every time as you download and go.

Now, this one click reduction indeed made it breezy to download the bats. A Big THANK YOU!!

I've been generally happy with the game play (a few fixes need but already bought up a few times in here). My biggest issue with the game is the lack of stats, more so the earned stats like in 14. It's like there's no history of all the games you've played. Cricket is all about stats and this game is very poor in that department

Other thing i believe that will make the game realistic is if AI misfields sometimes within the circle. Whenever the AI is prpmpted to jump to stop the ball, they always stop it. Sometime they should get a little bit of their hand and the ball deviates a little bit and sometimes, ball goes to the boundry since they didn't touch the ball but attempted to stop it.

My list of items which need to be addressed in priority order...

1. Batting with shots to all areas of the field in 360 degree arc
2. AI fielding to be tightened so you don't get a run every time you hit the ball
3. AI Field sets, especially for limited overs formats
4. Turn down number of extras by AI bowlers, especially wides and byes
5. Framerate issues
6. Stats
