this is a repost from my post in the "complete teams" thread which is more relevant here.
I uploaded the 9 IPL franchises and some Ranji Trophy squads and found two problems :

- I was not allowed to upload Manan Sharma and Mohit Sharma from the Delhi Ranji Trophy squad, as they have the same age and both of their first names start with an M. It seems that the system prevents the confusion between the players that may occur for the user, but it makes no sense at all.
- I was not allowed to upload my Delhi, Mumbai and Punjab Ranji Trophy squads as I had already uploaded teams linked to the default on-disc "Delhi", "Mumbai" and "Punjab" (respectively the Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab from the IPL).

I hope these issues can be addressed in the next version of the Cricket Academy.

Hi, that's weird. it should go by the first names, not just the initial. hopefully they address that, but maybe you could just change one of their ages for now? it's not a huge deal.

regarding the ranjit / ipl teams, my suggestion would be to change the name of the ipl teams to what the full ipl teams are, so again it would allow both to be uploaded.)

I'll follow your advice on the age issue.

On the Ranji / IPL confusion, the problem is that I have correctly renamed my IPL teams, which have replaced the default "Delhi", "Mumbai", etc.

My Ranji teams, on the contrary, are entirely new. The system must associate the IPL ones to the original names, and does not know what to do with the Ranji teams. It must not be capable of telling the difference between the Delhi-linked Delhi Daredevils of the IPL and the brand new Delhi of the Ranji Trophy.

That's really weird! And a pity, since it would help to have the IPL/Ranji distinction.

my only suggestion would be an alternative user account to upload the ranji teams.

can you address the "max" number for some of the stats categories?

trying to stat Wilf Rhodes, he played first class cricket for 32 years; he played over 1000 matches. it's not possible to get his number of deliveries (185742) or runs conceded (70322) in the first class stats.

Edit, nor the number of first class 5 wicket hauls - 287!!

probably set for 8 or 16 bit, 32768/65535 - I'll check what's going on.

edit is probably 8 bit 255! bloody hell!

yep, they go to 65535! (and five wicket hauls goes to 255)

i guess the stats racked up in a 32 year first class career is a bit of an outlier!

actually, my "barbarians" team is obviously a team of outliers - phil tufnell only had a 16 year first class career but bowled 76,934 deliveries which is also above your maximum. so conceivably someone could pass that in your 20 year career mode...

can't wait for this game look amazing been looking at this site for months now and finally decided to make an account. Not being much of a computer guy i was wondering if anyone knew what the problem with my laptop is as it is not letting me access the new ca beta,as it simply crashes when opening. anyone have any suggestions(all previous versions have worked fine apart from some minor bugs)

Just downloaded the academy, but it seems to crash after the bigant logo shows up and just before it says "load profiles"

Is there any well know fix to this? Am I doing something blatantly wrong? I have intel i7 haswell processor, NVIDIA 750m and 16GB RAM. Screen resolution Full HD.

I'm really stuck, and I feel I'm making a mistake somewhere.

I'm really stuck, and I feel I'm making a mistake somewhere.

Take a backup of your saved-game files and delete them. Then restart CA.

You can find the files in ~/Documents/My Games/Cricket Academy/ folder.

Basically, it might have to do a corrupt save file and since we have had so many versions of CA, it is recommended to start fresh (i.e. remove all your older files). Ofcourse, if you have a lot of created players that have not been uploaded to CA servers yet, it could be a problem. If not, you should be good to go.
