Looking foward to it as always. They don't show the Pura Cup on Fox Sports mate . Hopefully Slats can cash in and score a ton and prove his worth to the Australian selectors

Western Australia Warriors Vs Victorian Bushrangers
The WACA, Perth
16th - 19th October 2006
Brendan Julian: He?s beaten Jewell there the appeals gone up and he?s out! Finally Aaron Heal has got the breakthrough. He?s bowled a fantastic over building the pressure on Nick Jewell and finally the edge has come and it was well taken by Ronchi. So in the end the partnership of 145 between Mash and Jewell has been broken. It?s a 182 ball 71 from Jewell and it will bring the young Slatter to the crease at 2:52pm in what is his first Pura Cup game since coming back from injury.
Damien Fleming: Well it?s about time really for the Warriors. Their bowlers just haven?t looked threatening like they did in the Ford Ranger game the other day but it?s been some really sensible batting from the Victorians on what is a batsmen friendly pitch.
Brendan Julian: So Mash is on 66 at the other end as Slatter takes up strike to Heal with 2 balls remaining in the over???.
Brendan Julian: Slatter has started well here as he moves on to 12 and hasn?t looked to play to many big shots as he builds his innings by playing straight. A couple of nice flicks off the pads and those two 4?s through cover will do his confidence good wont it Flem?
Damien Fleming: Yes he?s looking good playing the support role to Mash who has moved on to 83 and is looking like making a century in this innings. The Bushrangers are dominating this attack today and could bat well into tomorrow and guarantee first innings points or declare and go for the win by bowling out WA that is if they think there attack is good enough to do so.
Brendan Julian: Certainly the choice is Cameron White?s to make but at this point in time I think they?ll be happy to just push it around with tea fast approaching.
Tea ? Day 1
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brendan Julian: The bails are being removed for tea here on the first day and it?s the Victorian Bushrangers who have raced out of the blocks and are well in front with just 1 wicket down. Mash has moved on to 91 from 197 and Slatter 16 from 35. So 69 (haha) overs bowled and the visitors are already 193 and look like scoring well over 500 if not 600 if they want to.
Damien Fleming: In a short period of time this partnership has quickly reached 48 which is bad news for Western Australia who?s bowlers have looked pedestrian out there. Im happy to say BJ that my Bushrangers are well on top.
Brendan Julian: I?ll have to agree with you on that Damien. Join us back at the WACA in 20 minutes from now after the tea break.
Thats a solid innings from Slats! Slats can take time and play steadily!:happy
Also Vic Br is nicely placed at the moment! Nice presentation as always!
Brendan Julian: The resumption after tea has brought success for Western Australia as Lloyd Mash who had moved on to 96 is now out just 4 runs short of a hundred. Brett Dorey was the man to make the breakthrough, pitching up to the left handed Mash who affectively yorked himself and was trapped in front LBW. The partnership of 62 comes to an end and Slatter now has to take up the lead role in this new partnership with Brad Hodge at 2/207.
Damien Fleming: Yeah a real shame for Mash who was looking at a big hundred here but that?s just the way it goes I guess. Persistent bowling by Dorey to get the wicket in the end.
Brendan Julian: Slatter has now moved his score along to 23 and is looking very solid in defence and assuring when he chooses to attack. However the Warriors still have a lot of work to do as they just have 2 wickets in the bank at the moment.
Damien Fleming: Slatter is playing some smart cricket here as he is just basically waiting for either the ball on the pads to flick either behind or in front of square or the wide ball outside off stump which he is smashing through cover. He?s, looking good in this innings and the Warriors will need to get him soon or face a long day in the field.
Slatter Out
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Damien Fleming: What a bowling change here from Justin Langer as Edmonson picks up another wicket for WA and it?s a big one. Slatter goes caught behind for 32 to some controlled line and length bowling
Brendan Julian: Well it was a decent ball but it didn?t move much in the air or off the seam Slatter just played down the wrong line and will consider himself unlucky to get a thin edge through to Ronchi who took a comfortable chest height catch.
Damien Fleming: The door may just have opened slightly for the Warriors with the Bushrangers now 3/227 after 76 overs. Let?s see how it unfolds from here.
Brendan Julian: Cameron White has stuck his head out of the dressing room and is calling Hodge and Hussey in. The Bushrangers have declared their innings at 3/371 at 12:39 here on day 2. A smart decision or not Flemo?
Damien Fleming: ell he obviously thinks his bowling attack can knock over this talented WA lineup otherwise he?d bat for 2 days and make sure of 2 first innings points. He?s going for the win though so it will be interesting to see what kind of start the Warriors get off to on a pitch that is still playing well.
Brendan Julian: Hodge has been left high and dry here on 89 not out and Hussey finishes 59 not out. If I was Hodgey I?d be letting Cameron White know that he should of waited for him to get a hundred before declaring but maybe the plan is for the Bushrangers to have a crack at WA and try and get a wicket in the 15 minutes before lunch here. We?ll take a break and be back in 10 minutes for the Warriors reply.
i hoped Slatter for his test fifty! But 32 of 57 balls is a good innings! Also the vic Br is in comfortable position! I have a feeling of this being drawn!
