England in Australia

From the past year it is clear to see Bell is a diffferent class to Clarke.
And in the last Ashes that was equally true, he was several classes below. Clarke showed he could handle the bowling and get himself to a start the vast majority of the time, and was getting himself out through loose shots when he was on top. Bell never looked like scoring a run. I'm not saying that throwing away starts is a good thing, but only one of them looked like a batsman at any point.

bell still is below clarke

only reason ppl think bells so good is cos he hit 3 hundreds against pakistans 3rd string attack and 162 vs bangladesh

expect him to have a very bad ashes series

He also scored a hundred against your first team in Pakistan remember?

So the only reason people think Bell is good is because he has scored runs against everyone except McGrath and Warne in what was essentially his first series? That he is still young and on top of having a classy technique is a quality fielder? Yeah people that think he is a good prospect and possible future star of Test Cricket don't know what they are talking about

It's basically beause he's English. If he was Australian or Pakistani then he'd be touted as the next Bradman.

It's a favouritism thing methinks. Because he doesn't play for their country, it immediatley makes him rubbish.

Right, This is the Series that will prove whether Bell is good enough or not. he has to able to get at least a couple of scores in this series. Then everyone in my opinion can rave about him all they want.

1 series doesnt make a player.

Anyway, im bloody excited about the ashes starting tonight. Cos of my partner going to work, ill be taping it on sky plus and watching it first thing in the morning. Come on boys, do us proud again.

Hussey and Clarke in for Katich and Tait effectively from the losing side last year.
Same aussies, same weaknesses; up and at 'em boys! :D

Oh well, at least when Clark gets clubbed around the park they can add a better bowler into the Ashes squad.

I don't see why it's a bad move to play Clark. He bowled exceptionally well in Safrica on similar picthes and i'm backing him for a good game in this Test match.

I'd love it if i'm completley wrong though. :p

Chances are he won't bowl 'badly', but I was hoping to see someone more attacking play.

I've always rated Johnson, he never does bad and always performs (as far as I know).

Why ever drop him?

Well, an hour till Sky kicks in, and 1hr and 30 mins till Harmy steams in.

I think it will be 3-1 to the Aussies, but id love myself to be completly wrong.

I think Harmy will have a shocker of a series, and Ponting and co. will smack him about. Again, if im wrong GREAT!

I think Fletch will use Giles too much, and forget about the young world class left armer, who only cant field, but he can swing a bat, as Murali witnessed :p

I think Fred and KP will have a big series, aswell as Colly.

I think Warne will get those 15 wickets to secure his 700th wicket! (It is 700th isn't it?)

I think its a mistake to be honest by Australia to play Stuey Clarke, id stick Johnson in there, as he is younger, i think he's a tad faster to, thats what you need at Brisbane, bowlers banging it in hard, its a fast bouncy pitch, which takes spin aswell.
