England in Australia

Not everyday you see that, quite impressed so far by Hayden's batting so far. Langer has struggled a bit with that swinging ball which he does have problems with.

They will probably play now until maybe halfway through this session, the reason they didn't enforce it was to give McGrath a rest. Still cant understand it though, he could have had a rest at tea.

Complaining about Australia batting again? I bet you'd complain if this Test was over today as well.

Ponting's a really defensive type of captain if that was Steve Waugh there be no question he would have enforced the follow on.
I think Punter might declare overnight to give his bowlers a good rest although who knows Hayden has come out really aggressive.

Whose that at? I definitely wouldn't be complaining if it was over today, heck it can finish on the first day as long as Aus win I'm happy.

I think its aimed at me, no I'm certainly not complaining, as an England fan I'm happy about it. Its just a strange decision.

Punter mentioned something about letting the cracks on the pitch widen even further before England's second innings.

Anderson could have had one but Flintoff too slow to get to it. Anderson definitely looks to be a weak line though, took a smashing from Clark now not all that threatening here and taking a bit of a smashing from Hayden.

Sounds like hes putting lots of nails in the English coffin. Aussie taking apart the English bowling won't give much confidence to them or the batsmen who must be wondering how on earth Aus are doing this.

Typical Australia here.

The most impressive part of their performance is they havent even allowed an England counterattack as of yet.

Ahahaha, England are pathetic. I think Giles warrented his place with the second top score.

I think Bangladesh would pose a bigger threat. Maybe even Kenya.

Anderson has got to go. Not a test bowler at all. Bring in Plunkett. He seems to at least have good control from what I have seen of him.

Why Australia didn't go for the kill is beyond me. Not that it will matter. Still, you have to say it's a bad move not to enforce the follow on.

Im fairly certain that they are batting again to just rub it in their faces. Keep on killing until they are certainly dead.

It's all money, revenue raiser for CA. If Aus did enforce the follow on then the match will most likely finish early-mid day 4. Now Aus are looking to batt till the end of the day and possibly early tommorrow to extend the game to day 5 and thus more money.

England's bowlers especially Hoggard was better today. Had a few close LBW shouts but inside edges by Langer. Anderson surely has to go next match, I felt Mahmood may have been the better option on this pitch because as we've seen so far its the bowlers that hit the deck quite hard have picked up the wickets (i.e McGrath, Clark and Flintoff).
It is going to be a long summer for England and especially for the BarmyArmy if they keep performing like they have so far, but I still have faith in this team as this is the new England not the England team 4 years back. All they need to do is somehow fix up Harmison and bring Monty back in for Adelaide and also hope that Vaughan is available for game 3 as so far in this match I don't think Flintoff's captaincy has been to flashy.

Darren Gough said in some article on foxsports that England are truly missing Troy Cooley and especially Harmison. I agree with him there, it was rather stupid by the ECB to pretty much hand him over to Australia prior to the Ashes.
