England In India - October 2011/12

What? That doesn't make any sense. Only twice did Sri Lanka pass an England score according to your results.

According to your scores England bowled Sri Lanka out 4 of the 6 times?

Sorry I could not express clearly :p

Sri Lanka got bowled out 4 of the 6 times but only 2 such occasions occured when England could take opportunity to win a match. In one occasion they did, that 82 all out was not expected.

184 all out was the the last match if I remember, that was another occasion where they could have done something special and won it 2-0. They failed again as in Second innings Sanga scored a brilliant century and they posted 334. Although rain was a spoil sport, this series would have been the same that is 1-0 to England.

So as Mark said, he wants to see India getting █████, I dont think so.

Could be some real mirror match bowling going on. Both sides have a credible swing bowler, big tall guy and off spinner. I mean if you get a certain set of conditions, it might not necessarily be home side's advantage.

Don't think the scoreline would have ended 1-0 had their not been so much rain. Didn't rain affect every game?

Looking at your scores, out of the 4 times England batted, they were only bowled out once which they means they would have been in the driving seat constantly where as Sri Lanka were bowled out 4 of the 6 times.

I mean it's difficult to judge but when a team only passes 200 in half their innings on a tour, they certainly haven't done too well.

100th International ton when Sachin Tendulkar walks out to bat at Lord

Indian fans would be expecting a record 100th International ton when Sachin Tendulkar walks out to bat at Lord's that on a historic occasion India and England will playing the 2000th Test this month. It seems now he will become the first cricketer to score 100 international hundreds. Sachin Tendulkar has been arguably the biggest cricket icon the game has ever known and is the most complete batsman of current era.

I would really love to watch Sachin walk out of the ground raising his bat with pride.

This is going to be a hell lot of series for India more then England. England dont have anything to lose. I predict a 2-1 win for India but I could be wrong. We could well be 1-2 or even 1-1

When we toured South Africa before World Cup everyone said we will lose 1-0 and those conditions too were not easy to cope up. India were without any practice match. Here I hope the practice match does a hell of good. We needed Gary for this series as he would have done a hell lot difference with physical and mental pressure.

I hope the team(India) lives upto its expectation and does well in the series.

Also why are England not playing tests till March 2012?

Here I hope the practice match does a hell of good.

Actually, It wont be all that helpful to be honest. Here India are playing Somerset at Taunton - who supposedly boast the flattest of tracks across the country. Might be a nice warmup for the Lord's test though, given its pitch is as bad (flat) as the one in Taunton. :p

Well come to Sub-continent mate, I am sure that stats will reverse emphatically. Also I can't believe you have compared England players to Indian players in England. England players play there every time while Indian player comes at every 4 years. Of course England will have better record.

I also agree with some people who were saying that England has to win at Lord's to win the series. If they want to win series they have to beat India at Lord's otherwise oh boy they will have a really tough task ahead of them. No matter how green pitch u make after Lord's. It can come back at England as well because our bowlers can swing it big, too and when I say "big" I actually mean really "BIG".

I'm trying to think of a way of describing how big those IF's are in there.

IF

Oop, there you go. Would have been 2-0 without the rain, Lord's doesn't count as the wicket is about as interesting as horse racing.

England to equal India if they win series, 1-0 or 2-1. Will take no.1 rankings if they win 2-0 or above margin.

Reliance ICC Test Rankings, ICC Team Rankings, ICC Rankings Predictor

Apparently the tables get updated this week. So that may change the permutations. Depends who played best between mid 2007 to mid 2008 as that year gets dropped from the ratings. India lost in Australia that year, so India may get a little boost and Australia may drop even more :( Although I guess India's win over England in 2007 will get dropped too... We'll see in a few days.

starting to understand y'alls opposition to using UDRS.

I hope India gets █████

y'alls? You mean me too? I have never opposed the UDRS. Well, I dont think many Indian fans oppose the UDRS. Its a few people along with some cricketers like Sachin and Dhoni who think UDRS is not yet there to be used permanently. Being a die hard Sachin and Dhoni fan, I dont agree with them on the UDRS issue.

I don't care. All I want is for India to damn win the series and march on to Australia and South Africa (in their quest for world supremacy). It will be a good moment when Sachin gets that 100th ton, but first or 100th, its all the same for me.

Its been long since I so eagerly anticipated a series (the last one was that India-Australia acrimonious series in 2007 featuring that Sydneygate incident; that was one hell of a great series). Wish the quality of this upcoming series is as good (with less controversies of course). BRING IT ON!
