So Sehwag's return in third and fourth test too in doubt after that press conference in England of Dhoni and Flethcer. This is going to be a hell of a factor in this series as his even 30 runs early start means 40 for the first wicket if he falls early.

He is in no way was obligated to play in the IPL by his contracts with the BCCI if thats what you're intimating.

Yes I meant that its BCCI who pays him the money, It's BCCI's league and they want him to play in this league. He is the icon player of his region which makes him more in the game.


I will continue the normal office example, if your office who is paying you loads of money to work wants you to take part in some more outside office work, you wont be saying no

Massive massive blow for India and their chances of clinging onto the #1 spot if Sehwag's ruled out for the whole of the test series. The BCCI should really look into this factor from now and try to not allow nationally contracted players from taking part in the you-know-what booze. Was really looking forward to the contest between Sehwag and Anderson, but what a shame!

Sehwag only skipped the IPL matches after Daredevils had no chance to qualify for the knockouts. I guess if he values IPL more than playing for the national team then he shouldn't picked again.

Sehwag gone = India's batting pushed but not yet dropped. I want to see how some of the younger guys and Dravid (getting on a bit) will cope with Tremlett and Anderson in full flow. England also have extra depth since 2007, that of Swann, Indian's, in fact most of the subcontinental batsmen play spin very well but Swann is canny. Going to be a great contest.

Although even I find it annoying that he had to miss the WI tour and is going to miss almost half of the England test series I don't quite blame him for choosing IPL, ffs he is not in army.

Strauss ,woefully out of runs, plays for some other county to get some form before the first test...as I see he gets a half century here...

whereas our Dhoni too short of runs in the recent series ( apart from the last test) is cooling his heels and asking Saha to play in this game ....seriously, Dhoni should have made use of this warm up game just before the test.
