England In India - October 2011/12

India break Australia's record

Slow-pokes in the past, India now have more ODI scores of 300 than any other team. It took India nearly 22 years of playing ODI cricket to cross 300 for the first time in a match and they were the last major cricket team to reach that score. Even Zimbabwe had achieved the feat many years earlier.

But once there, India have now made scores of 300 or more, more times than any other team. The Mohali ODI provided the 65th such instance, and India have now overtaken Australia at 64.

Not surprising given how many matches India played...

A ratio for scores over 300/number of ODIs would be a better measure.

Exactly. India play lots more than Australia, so its not surprising. I don't think they'll bring on the ratio system anytime soon, because cricket brains are worser than football brains.

We're absolutely happy [England beat India] because we want cricket to grow in England

Rajiv Shukla, the new IPL commissioner, says England have lost a lot at cricket and football over the last 10 years and needed to win something

Ouch. I'm almost inclinded to be impressed, pretty top notch trolling there.

India First time Scored 300 hundred against pakistan on 16 Apr 1996..

Since 16 Apr 1996

Aus Played: 424 Matches
300+ scores: 57

India Played: 504 matches
300+ scores: 65

So Aus Avg in scoring 300 is 7.43 and india is 7.7

Haven't India played 786 matches? And Australia 774?

thats overall ODI played since 1971.. if u take that also in count then total australia 300 score in 774 ODI is 64.. (india is 65 but they have played just 12 more matches than australia)

Tiwary should be no way near ODI team. He's just another T20 hit and miss. Has his problems with the short stuff. Get some technically sound batsmen in there ffs. Pujara should be looked at as a future prospect now that Badri's talent has been wasted. Pujara can be a real asset in both, ODIs and Tests.

Pujara is injured. Selectors just don't like Badrinath.

What is wrong with Tiwary? 4 matches he has played. Doesn't he deserve anymore chances?

Didn't know about Pujara. Well, Badri's age doesn't help him now. And, Tiwary is just another of those come in, hit out or get out sort of a batsman in my eyes. I don't see him as a future prospect tbh.

Out of those four matches he played, i can distinctively remember him being castled by lee's toe crushing yorkers twice:p. But i would love to see Pandey or Nechim debuting. Pujara should walk into side once he's fit. He' the most technically sound prospect India has for the future.

I can go on about how you celebrated your first tournament trophy i.e T20 World Cup but I won't.

I'd like you to. From what I can remember there was a few celebratory posts but there wasn't that much at all. From what I can remember there was a big arguement when people said the Ashes was more important to us that the Twenty20 win.
