England In India - October 2011/12

Last ODI :

We are batting. Would have been nice if Varun was included in place of Munaf/Singh, to see how he fares in the 50 over format...

Talking about Dravid, I still remember, on his ODI debut he batted at some 8 or 9 :D I think, India required quick runs in that truncated game and this guy was pushed down the order with every falling wicket :D

But 15 years down the line...the rise is phenomenal.

Doesn't really make sense that Aaron isn't getting a game. I wonder whether its a ploy to save him for CL and IPL games so they can market the tournaments better.

Negative Nasser I think it was in charge when we beat West Indies, that when they had Lara, Chanderpaul, Walsh and Ambrose fighting much on their own and we just saw off the two bowlers and picked off the supporting cast to win - helped by some dreadful collapses, one of which TV couldn't keep up with to get all their ads in :rolleyes
You speak as if that middling side should have deserved a walk-over. Truth be told, no captaincy is told in sheer statistics. The influence of a good captain is everything to a low level team, but maybe only a few wins here and there to a good one.

Time for the typical Indian collapse I feel.

Maybe not...well played Dhoni, must be said.

Its just poor planning from the team management and Dhoni. As Wasim Akram says, probably they will give him some games when they play ODI's in India, he will most likely be spanked around and then they will resign him to the background. Wonder from where does Dhoni get confidence in the likes of Vinay Kumar, Munaf Patel and RP Singh (well RP looks better than before but still he has mostly been pedestrian and ineffective apart from that 2007 T20 cup).

Well batted India! Now time to bowl well and finally win a match. Hope to see Ashwin and Jadeja do some magic with the ball. We need Ashwin to push Harbhajan harder.

Yeah, pitching off and hitting leg and he's well down the wicket. Very unlucky, to say the least.

Should be an interesting finish if the weather stays away.

holy ████ Bairstow... haven't seen that kind of massive hitting for a while... another Eion Morgan in the making?

If we had played a few more ODI games, we could have tried harder............TO GET WORSER!!!!!!! Terrible captaincy from Dhoni. Doesnt pick the right players, doesnt pick the right bowlers for the right situation. His luck has run out and he is hopeless. Brings in Ashwin after Baristow and Bopara have ripped the game apart and have only to complete formalities. Backs hopeless guys like Vinay Kumar, Munaf Patel who doesnt have brains nor pace.

Anyways, good that the tour is over. Now these guys will dash off to the CLT20 and everything will be forgotten until we tour Australia!

What india lost again, will dravid play test or twenty twenty

With the kind of team selection and Pathetic captaincy, India just didn't deserve to win.

Good batting display, good to see Bairstow taking his chance and Bopara again doing well. Cook and Trott with ~ run a ball 50 and 63 setting a solid platform.

Kohli and Dravid did well and Dhoni finished off very well. India's batting has been pretty decent in this series, but the bowling is very weak. I have to think we use Finn during the middle overs when he is playing ODI's, his results from this series hasn't been great, but he's looked much better than the stats say and has been unlucky in parts.

Not a perfect series by any stretch, plenty to work on. But a well deserved series win none the less.
