England in West Indies

Harmison gets his thrid warning for running on the pitch, and that will be him for this innings
Bloody hell, he'll get 500 if this keeps going
(359* and counting)

Maybe Harmison got tired of this pitch, and decided to do it on purpose, maybe easier that saying his leg is sore

lol- I wouldn't disagree
(362 and counting)

184.2 Vaughan to Jacobs, (noball) no run, shuffles down the pitch, drives, beaten, BOWLED, starts walking, then the big smile when told it is a no ball, Vaughan well over with the fron foot
They certainly are doing their best to self destruct :(
(367 and counting)

187.3 Batty to Lara, no run, outside off, drives, clips the ground, beaten, appeal, Dar is with it, says no, booos from the crowd
Even if it was out the crowd would probably riot if it was given
(374 and counting)

189.3 Batty to Lara, FOUR, outside leg, sweeps, and races away to fine
leg, Lara is leaping, fisting the air, means so much to him
Runs down the pitch, punching the air, jumps into the arms of
Jacobs, and hugs
Chaos here, with photographers on the pitch, Memebr of the
Government out there shaking hands, surprisingly no fireworks or champagne 400 runs next England players also up to Lara shaking hands with him, great occasion

Well, he's got it- congratulations to him

We've just been looking through some of your emails (and thanks to
those who've contacted us) and whilst there's huge support for
Lara's achievement,
there are also quite a few of you out there who believe he has
wrongly put himself before the team, particularly in this first
half hour after lunch.

He always has anyway

Brian Lara breaks the 400 barrier

Brian Lara receives a guard of honour after becoming the first man to reclaim the world Test batting record 400*

Yeah I was watching it on Sky Sports. Congratulations to Brian Charles Lara, the first person to reach 400 runs and the first person to reclaim the record amount of test runs scored in an innings.

Back on top of the world, where he rightfully belongs....true to form, true to greatness!

Thanks mate for posting a correct score... I missed that part.

4th Test Stumps Day 3

West Indies 1st Inning 751/5d (Lara 400*, Jacobs 107*, Sarwan 90) (Batty 2/185)
England 1st Inning 171/5 (Butcher 52) (Collins 2/37, Best 2/20)

England trail by 580 runs with 5 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

Well, Freddie and G. Jones are still there. Can't say I back England to survive for long enough to let our guys bat in the second innings for a draw. If they can hold on from here then it will be an excellent performance considering.

Congratulations to Brian on a fantastic innings.

Bring on the series in England later this year. It will be all the better for the confidence boost West Indies have received.
