England in West Indies

I'm sure he'll get a biggun soon rocklara; I thought he was on for one in the 1st inns until Freddie struck, at least he wasn't hopping around in his crease as much as in the previous 2 Tests.
Got to give massive praise for Thorpey; what an innings. I heard Tony Greig and Mark Nicholas having a dig at England's tactics yesterday when Thorpe was farming the strike with the tail-enders, saying how boring it was and that the Aussies don't do it blah blah blah. Would they rather he left the tail exposed and England were bowled out for 50-60 less than they got? Muppets. I thought it was a thoroughly professional and expert innings, which, at the end of the day, has kept this Test alive for England. If we win it'll be down to Thorpey's innings.

West Indies 58/6 (26.3 ov)

20.6 Hoggard to Hinds, OUT: hat-trick! hat-trick! hat-trick! it's all
happening here! superb delivery on the middle and off stump line,
Hinds pushes at it and gets a thick edge straight to Flintoff at
second slip, Hoggard starts his celebration!!

Well there's the obligatory collapse :)

I never said it was a good thing- and the England bowlers aren't good, the Windies are just crap

brad352, that's a very informed opinion you've treated us all to there. Credit where credits due eh? Mind you, that's a lot to ask from an Aussie.

Lara must be covered in bruises after that innings. I'd like to say revenge is sweet, but I've a lot of time for Brian, having seen him bat for Warwickshire a few years ago.

I must admit that it is nice having English bowlers running through a side. We have always managed it occasionally, but this attack - although helped by the pitches and some not too clever batting - looks like being the most consistent all round bowling line-up we've had for a long time. We would always heve Gough taking wickets, or Caddick, or Fraser, but never 4 at the same time and that's making the difference.

It would be nice to see a competitive game for the 4th test, but don't forget that even though England are 3-0 up, we haven't won every day or every session of the game. Had Thorpe got a duck, for example there is every chance WI could have won that game - probably being 100 runs ahead after the first innings and not 2 runs behind.

Well done yourself for taking this on the chin. Other sports could benefit from more fans like you :)

Yeah, thanks and bad luck rocklara; as FishBowlMan said it could have been a lot different...had Thorpe been given out lbw (which to me looked plumb) that first ball after tea who knows? And I feel for Lara too; he's got an impossible job atm, trying to pull his deflated team together and get his own form going too. I honestly feel that the Windies have the basis of a decent bowling attack, although a little raw at present Edwards and Best will be a real handful in years to come. Their established batsmen have let them down this series though.
And yeah Fish, great to see all the England pacemen doing the business throughout the series. With Anderson now fighting for his place back and Sajid Mahmood getting good reviews on the recent A tour to India things are looking up there. The icing on the cake was Tresco getting some runs too, although he still looked a bit scratchy to me. Great scenes from Barbados last night too; how I envy those guys out there:D ;) .

lol, but thats true :p (the aussies being crap part, still can't believe they got to the final! )

It seems that Chanderpaul (apologies for spelling) has been dropped from the West Indies side for the 4th and final test. A young chap by the name of Joseph has been picked instead. I am not familiar with this guy as I believe it is his first test. Anyone know anything about him?
