A new look commentator team has come to the Sky Sports coverage of Englands fixtures, and it takes the form of the legend that is Richie Benaud, Mark Nicholas and Tony Grieg. Along side them they have the famous Analyst Simon Hughes.
England have been off form of late and the ECB have called an emergancy meeting just before the Ashes which states England will not be playing in the warm up games against NSW and others but they will infact be taking on the might of Bangladesh and Canada in a tri-series.
Its a shock Canada have been called into this series as they have only got a temporary test status so this will presumably cement thier place as a Test nation if they can finish anything than bottom.
Englands stand in captain Andrew Flintoff has this to say, and he sounded and looked a little shocked.
"Its a total mystery to me. The ECB said they were going to maybe have a few more fixtures for us to play which they guys moaned at but we all know we need it with Ashley just getting back and James aswell. In my view we could have done with maybe a few stronger opponents but im not going to underestimate Bangladesh nor Canada, although i haven't seen Canada in action i believe they have a couple of strong batters who can put us under pressure but hopefully they will have some questionable bowlers who we can take advantage of. With this we have pulled out of the Champions Throphy in India but im not sure that is a bad thing as we all know its the Aussie were looking to beat, and these are 5 day outings not a 1 day thing, so maybe its a good thing."
Its truly is a whacky turn for the ECB to take, but they have never been one to follow a formal way of managing the national side, have they?
Well join us on the 26th September for the first game against Canada, and then the might of Bangladesh who nearly gave Australia a shock will be coming to England to try to pick up a unlikely win over a very under-preforming team.
