England tour to South Africa December 2015/February 2016

SA win toss and bat first. Interesting only 3 non white players picked, politicos will be unhappy...

Viljoen gets a debut and vilas comes in for qdk.

SA will take 73/1 at lunch. Haven't been able to watch it but from cricinfo and other comments seems england have bowled poorly. Van zyl again tossing it away, meanwhile stephen cook is on 45 not out for the lions again...

I really really feel for Kyle Abbott.

AB looking very positive. Cook should be tearing his hair out. Too short from the England lads. It's been better in the second session though.

Morris and Rabada have done brilliantly to bring some parity to the proceedings. At 225/7 England were way on top. If SA get to 300, they would be quite pleased all things considered.

Think its about even at the moment. Don't think england bowled well with either new ball and SA gave away quite a few soft dismissals. Think pitch has quite a bit in it, so reckon 300 is about par.

Will take 313 , pitch seems to have enough bounce and seam if you pitch it up. England were too short, will be interesting to see how we go.

Most impressed with Viljoen! His a big strong lad.
If only the South African bowlers can bowl a better line to Stokes & Root....:mad

Looks a good pitch. Plenty of bounce which is always a good thing and offering help to bowlers who put it in the right areas. Brilliant from Stokes to wrest back the initiative and from Root flowing along to his ton. Hopefully we can push on tomorrow with these two and Mo and try and get a 50 or so run lead, which would be good on this pitch for me.

I think we'll end up level and then be chasing around 250 in the 4th innings. A classically good test match.

I know nothing about the South African quota system, so can somebody tell me what happens given that SA have only picked 3 'players of colour'?

Very even at the moment... hopefully we'll get a result on this match.
