Lol, reviewing Amla for Caught Behind is a waste. He walks when he edges it. I have great respect for him from the tour SA had in India. There was a point when India fielders would not even appeal to the Umpire. More like like to Amla, did you edge it? If Amla didn't move everyone went back to their fielding positions instantly.
I don't know why England would review a walker? Now thats something out of a Zombie movie
I dont mind the extreme types of fans who are either overly biased towards SA or towards the other country, I dont mind the fans that admit they dont really care about the team but support them nonetheless, the fan I hate the most are the fans that pretend to be crickets greatest analyst or the all knowing cricket genius. I mean, Cook hasnt scored runs for ages? How about the 260 odd vs Pakistan? The Proteas are back to being no1 in the world? We're fricken playing averagely well in a dead rubber against the 3rd best side in the world (no offense but Eng<NZ+Aus). Please for flips sake if you dont follow cricket dont tell me Faf has to be in the team or that Duminy is a key player. Dont tell me Stokes is one of the best in the world and DONT SAY ROOT ISNT IN THE TOP 10 TEST BATSMEN. Don't tell me Broad is overrated and dont say Anderson isn't an England great. Don't say Compton bats TOO SLOW for test cricket or that Ab should open the batting and never, ever say that Mitchell Johnson is the best bowler in the world because he RETIRED (FYI all this has been said too me or on social media and its honestly driving me insane, can people not look at google or cricinfo before making these claims). I mean, yes people want to look smart but I mean holy crap, next are you're going to tell me that Chanderpaul was actually decent or that Rabada is good (/sarcasm)?
Last time they opted against reviewing a caught behind appeal from Amla this series snicko suggested he'd nicked it to be fair .
I think Stokes is certainly one of the best all rounders in the world. If not the best.
If someone said that, he deserves to be tortured to death.DONT SAY ROOT ISNT IN THE TOP 10 TEST BATSMEN
If someone said that, he deserves to be tortured to death.
BTW, you rant quite a lot.
The batting has been disappointing but till this much they didn't pick the right batting lineup and even in this one they got the number 5 wrong imho.
I have been really disappointed in ab's performances and his press conference attitude hasn't helped.
Can't really make excuses, there's experienced players in that side, they fell apart because they didn't want to fight and England were superior in every department. How often do you see SA field badly? At times, they were very sloppy. This attitude of "oh, we just didn't have the right team or certain players were picked due to politics" has to stop of the whinging of AB will become the norm.
I remember hearing the same kind of things after Pakistan beat them in the ODI series.
It's never the current players faults, its always selectors or politics. It's never a lack of skill or heart, it's always something else. SA must identify where they're going wrong in the last 12-18 months, and that only ever happens with honesty. Much like England post 2007 or Australia post 2009.
Politics had nothing to do with this series, unless faf and van zyl found some long lost relative that I am unaware of.
Senior players in morkel, faf, duminy and ab haven't performed and the selectors got the team wrong from the start. Both stephen cook, qdk should have played the first test and picking morris because he can bat is flawed when it comes to bowlers.
This issues were flawed selection and senior players underperforming.
The selection panel needs to show vision and back the right players and not keep going back to players who have shown time and time again that they can't cut it at test level.
Positives from the series has been the emergence of young radaba and bavuma.
