England vs Sri Lanka - First Test :: Sponsored by Marcus Trescothick's Cricket Coach

Pick Collingwood as a batsmen, Flintoff as an allrounder and Maharoof as a bowler. Then you can have all 3.

He means you have to pick a reserve all rounder hence it's not possible to pick all 3.

It's amazing how many people participate in fantasy cricket when there are prizes to be won.

Oh wait, no it's not

Let's see if this comp breaks the India vs England record of 90 or not. Btw, the record of the most users registered without a prize being offered is held by Pakistan vs England - Second test (80).

What a joke. Three allrounders only? I've put some new players in as allrounders.

Liam Plunkett, since he has some fifties, including an ODI fifty after his name. (bowler allrounder)

Tillakaratne Dilshan: no need to tell about that why (batsman allrounder).

Thilan Samaraweera: since the guy grabbed only in first-class 347 wickets. If that doesn't make him an allrounder I don't know what (batsman allrounder).

And the edit option works, so you can change your team.

And you can thank me later.

Plunkett has made 10 runs in 2 tests.

Dilshan has 6 wickets in 34 matches.

Samaraweera 14 wickets in 34 matches.

Yup, they're all good choices for all rounders. I'm removing the AR tag from all three.

EDIT: If people are THAT desperate and would rather not have to think about their choices and apply any kind of strategy, I'll add Vaas as an all rounder.

Plunkett also made 50 on debut in the ODIs.

i wouldn't agree with Dilshan, but I would with Samaraweera.

Don't understand why are doing so stubborn about it. I am just creating some other possibilities for Fantasy Cricket players. I thought you didn't notice these figures about the players, which I concerned. That's why I included them. And staring blindly at the Test figures doesn't help either. That for example Samaweera doesn't get a chance to bowl much in Tests, doesn't mean he isn't an allrounder. His domestic cricket records proves it.

Another example: Collingwood didn't get a single wicket in 8 Test matches. But I wouldn't say he isn't an allrounder.

Anyway I want to hear others Fantasy Creaters their opinion about, like Aussie1st, Siddharth and Jk to what to do about it.

Making Plunkett an AR based on his ODI fifty (just one) is nothing less than ridiculous. Dilshan has an average of 36 but not enough wickets, Samarweera has 14 wickets but at an average of almost 48. Maybe there is a reason they're not given the ball that much, its because they suck with the ball!! I've made Vaas an AR since he has 9 test fifties next to his name.

Remember, this is a fantasy cricket comp based on real test stats.

BTW, if you thought I didn't notice their figures, perhaps you should've PM'd me first.

Is the Contest only for the first game ? and whether all top players like trescothink playing or not ?

From the first post in this thread:

We are giving away 5 copies of Marcus Trescothick's Cricket Coach with 1 given away for the winner of the Fantasy Cricket game for each test match and 2 more copies for overall winners across the 3 tests (who have not won a previous prize).

Hope that clears it up.

As far as I know, there haven't been any injuries and all the top players should be playing. I know Murali was injured, but I think he is set to play in the first test as well. Anybody else know anything about it?

We should have some prizes for the England v Pakistan series as well and perhaps the ODI series or West Indies v India.

Murali wasn't really injured, he went home for a family bereavement. He is back for the 1st test though.
