Sky Sports have announced that they will be showing only selected England tour games. This is due to scheduling problems and equiptment useage. Obviously it would be detrimental to the Ashes Series as a whole to show every match, it also would not be cost effective for Sky Sports to but extra equiptment to have it in two places at one time. Therefore they will only show the most important fixtures.
The next fixture to be shown is the opening tour match against Western Australia, a team which contains many of the Aussie starst that England will face in the upcomming series.

Western Australia Vs England:
4 Day Match:

England come into the game off the back of a storming 10 wicket win against the Chairman's XI so their spirits will be high, however, they face a much stronger team this time around in a much longer format of the game. The new faces to the squad will be looking to impress which should bolster their own performance and allow them to compete on a level with the others. The England squad should be used to this 4 day game because they pay much more of it than the Aussies do, this may give them the upper hand.
The pitch is rock solid, as hard as you are going to see most probrably so Steve Harmison, Andrew Flintoff and Simon Jones will be working the batsmen hard today with lots of short pitched stuff, anything off a length is going to to be driveable so back of a length or slightly fuller will be the course of action. Monty Panesar will find the pitch to his liking to im sure, plenty of bounce available and some spin as the pitch wears. Englands batsmen will probrably not be too worried as there are no mainstream spinners or seamers in the lineup for Western Australia which wil allow Alastair Cook to fell his way in allong with almost all of the other batsmen who havent batted yet! The other new addition to the team Chris Read will feel a bit edgy though with the three quickes firing them in short, he going to need to be on his toes!

Flintoff Claims First Blood
Captain Marvel gets the breakthrough after bowling only 1 over and 2 balls, did we expect anything less from the big man? Matthew Hoggard kept it tight over the wicket, swinging the ball into the left handed opening pair and sometimes getting it to nip away, three maidens and good figures for him. Steve Harmison, however, couldn't get his line right and went at nearly 4 an over in the opening exchanges. His bounce wasnt really a factor because he wasn't in rhythm and his pace wasnt up to much either. At 43 for no wicket and Western Australia sitting pretty Freddie decided it was time for a change, he introduced himself into the attack and got hit for 6 runs in his first over, in his second Hussey took a scrambled single to put Langer on strike and Freddie let loose with a viceous bouncer which was on to the Aussie opener much quicker than he wanted, the ball went airbourne above the left hander who could only watch as Chris Read scrambled towards the dropping ball and flung himself underneath it to take a wonder catch. Freddie gets the wicket but it was all down to Chris Read who will not be doing his selection bid any harm by taking catches like that. England cant hold back though because Damien Martyn is in next and they will want to make an impression on the Aussie 'certs'.
