Englands new coach?

Actually Harmison first ball was more down to a lack of cricket, he barely plays any cricket for Durham and during our county season he bowled under 200 overs in 2006 apparently.
Yeah, I agree with you that it was down to lack of cricket, but I dont think Cooley would have let him be so underprepared.

Shine's done ok imo, not as good as Cooley but how can you replace someone so influential?

Fletchers been fantastic, but 7 (nearly 8 iirc) is a very long time in charge of a team and I think we need fresh ideas.

Moody or Woolmer, I'd probably prefer Woolmer though I wouldn't be disappointed with Moody.

I agree personally. For me the main change that needs to be made is that selection needs to taken out of the coach and captains hands, and they need to be left to get on with their job. That way if a poor decision is made they aren't then taking the flak for every minor detail, and the pressure is slightly spread out and shared between more than just two people.

I would be happy with a restructuring and Fletcher staying, but if they do decide to replace him, I would also be happy with either Woolmer or Moody. Woolmer has a proven pedigree and plenty of experience working in difficult circumstances at times in Pakistan. Whilst Moody would bring a young enthusiastic voice to the table, as well as the experience of turning a side at rock bottom in Sri Lanka, into one of the more feared sides in International cricket again.

no we need some pakistan physios they seem to work miracles ;)

i'm not having a go but our physio is a big lad considering he's their to tell people how to be fit

Lol, that's what I said to my dad this morning. "If he's supposed to advise them on their diets you'd think he'd set a good example wouldn't you?"

I love it when he waddles to the crease to treat our players. :)

Fletchers hardly stick thin too. I think we've got the heaviest staff in world cricket though i don't suppose getting Woolmer would make much difference

We should get Sri Lanka's physio to replace Conway as well. ;)
Definitely :p He could also be our substitute fielder :p

Well you couldn't have expected them to chck Fletcher before this series but now is the time

No I didn't. Being fair to him He has done a very good job. It's just he can't take the team forward anymore. We need a more passionate coach. An Aussie in my eyes, who'll instilled this detirmination to win at all costs. That's one of the reasons why Australia are the best team in the World. All 11 men as they walk out really want to win the game more than anything at that moment. I feel some of our players are commited enough.

Anyway, Moods for the Job.

I'd prefer Moody over Woolmer. I think Moody would have better ideas to be honest. Woolmer is too much like Fletcher to warrant that change.

On the Kevin Shine thing, you can't knock his coaching credentials, the only problem is that he's a coach, not a specialist bowling coach like Cooley.

I think Woolmer would do a good job. He has had to deal with a lot of issues at Pakistan and coped reasonably well.

Nah, We need a fresher approach like Moody's. A kick up the backside. Whereas I think Woolmer would pick up where Fletcher left off, Just at a better standard, and our set up would still be lightyears behind the Aussies.

I really just dont want an Australian at the top of English cricket. How can he tell the England players to go out their and do it for their country against Australia and mean it ?
