Englands new coach?

That has no bearing at all. Fletcher is Zimbabwean. Woolmer is Saffa/English, Still has Turned Pakistan around whilst playing us. Trooy Cooley Got our bowlers in amazing form and he's an Aussie.
It's an uneducated statement. Pretty much all international Coaches aren't coaching their countries. It's their job, they won't let pregudices get in the way.

My point was that the players wouldn't be as inspired as with an English coach. I didn't sya their would be anything wrong with his coaching

Its better off having a highly skilled foreign coach than having a worse coach just because of his nationality.

Well that is obvious but I was just stating this as an advantage Woolmer has over Moody when i prefer him as a coach anyway so even if he was foreign i would still want Woolmer.

But forget all these people,i say bring back Bumble!

I personally agree with you, I think Woolmer is a better coach than Moody so would prefer him, nothing to do with nationalities though.

Yes. Just another advantage although as the Sky guys were saying this morning we probably place too much emphasis on the coach and not enough on the captain

That's mostly right, I think you're confusing the roles a cricket international coach and a football international head manager play with your comments earlier on.

A cricket coach is there to run the training sessions, and work on things like technique, it is the captain who is there to inspire people and work out the tactics on the field.

Whilst in football the manager is in control of the tactics and team talks before and during the game.

I've always wondered how WG Grace would cope nowadays ;)

I would love to see him get cartwheeled by McGrath and promptly put the stumps back and tell him that the crowd is there to see him bat and not McGrath bowl :p

I really just dont want an Australian at the top of English cricket. How can he tell the England players to go out their and do it for their country against Australia and mean it ?

Hes done it with Sri Lanka already so only difference is he will be telling England to do it. If Moody didn't mean it then why would he want to coach England over Australia?
