Nice start to this story. Keep up the good work mate. Looking forward to future updates :)

Squads looking good for all the teams. Key players surely would be KP vs Tendulkar for me. Both class players and lets see if English spinners do take wickets...

Great update Tom :clap

Strong squads from all 3 teams. Regarding the T20, I think England should definatly win despite the Indians being the World Champions. ;)

Great works Tom! Looking forward to the next update.

Well,I was afraid that you would be using older patches so Mendis and other youngsters would not be there.

Seems I was wrong, good luck trying to beat India or Sri Lanka, they've got some quality teams there.
Also good to see Rashid getting a selection.:)

:gundown Key Battles :cutit

Pie Chucker anyone? That line from KP after Yuvraj got him out numerous times, caused quite a stir in both England and India. There is certainly no friendship between these two and I doubt Christmas cards were exchanged ;) Yuvraj and KP are very similar. Both are agressive batsmen and both are part time spinners (although Yuvraj might be slightly better ;)) The fact that they are so similar means that they are bitter rivals. After the war of words last time over in India, it did appear that Yuvraj came out on top after dismissing Pietersen a handful of times and hitting some match winning knocks. Pietersen will be looking for revenge, back on home soil. Don't expect to see any quarter given when they take to the field and expect the war of words to continue in the press.

Zaheer Khan is the best left-arm pace bowlers in the world, at the moment. He is deadly with the new ball and can get large amounts of reverse swing with the older ball. His ability to push the ball away and into the batsman, leaves them constantly guessing and resulting in them having to play it late. He has become India's main strike bowler and nearly always has wickets to his name.

Vaas is getting on in years now, however, he is still a force to be reckoned with. He might not be as fast as he once was, but he still generates a lot of movement with the ball and has been fundamental to Sri Lankan success over recent years. He is a regular wicket taker for Sri Lanka and his experience as the vice-captain also is useful to the team.

Both these two are very similar in the way they bowl and also by the fact that they are ok with the bat. It will be very interesting to see how these two fair when they go against each other.

Ever since Mahendra Singh Dhoni was made Captain, India have become deadly. He is yet to loose a Test match and is loved by the Indian fans. His succession of Kumble was a popular decision and so far he has backed this up with results. Meanwhile, on the pitch, he has continued to perform with both the bat and the gloves. If the Indian batting line-up fails, Dhoni is always there to steady the ship and can be relied on for a good amount of runs. His glove-work has improved a lot recently and it appears the captaincy has not meant a loss of form for him.

Sangakkara has been one of the best wicket-keepers over the past decade. Up there with Gilchrist and Boucher, Sangakara has scored many a run for Sri Lanka and hit some match winning knocks. At the top of the order, he has been the rock of many a Sri Lankan score and will always be there, even if batsmen fall around him. Rather like Dhoni, Sangakkara can be relied on under pressure as recent scores have shown. The Sri Lankan middle order does look a bit fragile, so Sangakkara is vital if Sri Lanka are to do well. He has slightly better glove-work skills then Dhoni, but the difference is minimal.

Overall these two will be a very interesting contest, one at the top of the order and one towards the end. Keep your eye on these two as we can expect fireworks.

Once again a very similar match-up. Both of these two are coming to the ends of their careers, with Jayasuriya no longer playing Test cricket. These two have scored thousands and thousands of runs for their team over the course of their career, and these twilighters probably have a few more in their bank. With both of them competing in their last tour's of England they will want to go out on a high. Sachin has had a few injury's which is a sign of age beginning to creep up on him and with Jayasuriya no longer in the Test squad, it shows that these old war-horses need a lot more rest then they used to.

Still, it will be an interesting to see how they cope in such a high intensity series. One thing is certain. There will be a lot of runs

Both Ishant Sharma and Stuart Broad arrived on the scene with not really a bang, more of a small nuclear explosion ;) Ishant Sharma really shone in the Indian victory over Australia. There his rapid pace left the Aussies reeling as he carved through an experienced batting line-up. He returned decent figures against England as well, and he is still very young!!! With so many years ahead of him, this lad is one for the future.

Stuart Broad made his name in the ODI series against South Africa. On the seaming pitches of England, Broad was pivotal in the destruction of South Africa. Broad has yet to make such a big impact on the test scene so this series will give him a real chance to prove a point.

The one who everyone has been talking about, versus the one who never stops talking about everyone ;) Mendis, when he first appeared was greeted with shock and amazement. Batsmen just had no answer to him. His variation would have batsmen looking like amateurs as they swayed around their crease like a drunk Griffo, looking for his drink ;) Many teams made it a major priority to try and understand how to play him, and this might pay off with Mendis having to try and improve his already impressive record.

Harbhajan Singh doesn't even need an introduction. Basically when there is controversy involving India, he won't be far away. Unfortunately for the Bhajji critics, he has been performing on the field, as well as off the field. With him now being India's front-line spinner and having to lead by example to players like Mishra, hopefully Harbhajan will calm it down. Still no matter what you think on the guy's social graces, he is an awesome spinner and will undoubtedly be a key weapon for India.

Sky Sports have put together a small video clip as a taster for what is too come in the upcoming series, involving England, Sri Lanka and India. The excitment is beginning to build as the most awaited tour of the year is soon to get underway.

Enjoy ;)
