England have announced the same squad for the 2nd successive test match against the West Indies. The match is to start on Thursday at Edgbaston, it is the 4th and final test in the series. It is expected that the 11 starters from Old Trafford will also start the 4th Test at Edgbaston. That means that despite being in the squad again, Ian Bell again looks set to miss out.
The fourth and final test between England and the West Indies at Edgbaston has been abandoned on the eve of the test without a ball being bowled. This week's dramatic floods have left the square and the outfield completely unplayable. Umpire Rudi Koertzen, who made the decision along with Billy Bowden, said "We feel this pitch would not be able to host a cricket match during the next 5 days. Therefore we feel it is only fair on both sides and supporters to not have a wasted journey and consider the match abandoned."
After the announcement, Steve Harmison was awarded the man of the series award, for producing some fearsome displays of fast bowling and constantly troubling the West Indies' batsmen. Michael Vaughan then lifted the npower trophy to celebrate a 2-0 series victory.
The next action between the sides is a 2 match Twenty20 series at The Oval in nine days time, before the they compete in a 3 match ODI series.
