England stormed through the first test on a very poor wicket to lead the series 1-0, this wicket looks a lot better, hit it hard and the ball is going to go sky high, expect Harmison to be in the wickets today, Hoggard will also be aided by the weather conditions as if the Aussies needed anyting else to worry about Anderson is in the squad and will be looking to use the conditions to his advatage after failing to perfomr in the first test.

Ricky Ponting called heads while Ian Botham flicked the coin in the middle again, the coin landed on heads and the Aussie captain had no hesitations in batting first strangely, The pitch is going to do a lot from the start and that is a very bad descision by the Aussie captain, they need to not only win the toss but use it to their advantage if they are to have any chance at levelling the series, Michael Vaughan will be happy at the way the toss went

2nd Test:

Day 1:
End Of Innings:

Australia:
175 All Out

Autralia lead by 175 runs

Hoggard and Anderson get into the swing of things while Harmison and Freddie bounce their way to victory:

Matthew Hoggards third five for in three innings has once again put England in a fantastic position to take the match and possibly the series at the start of the first days play in perth. If England were to win here they would lead the series 2-0 meaning that Australia would have to win the next three in a row to reatin the trophy but at the moment that looks impossible, critics are even talking about an unprecidented whitewash and all this after just one match, what a tour it has been so far!!! Hoggard claimed his first wicket after Australia has just seven runs on the board, Justin Langer tried to drive an inswinging delivery back down the ground and paid for it as the ball crashed into middle and leg leaving the stumps in a right mess. Just as the Aussies looked like falling into another collapse a 92 run partnership between Hayden and Ponting brightened there day, sadly that came to an end in the last ball of a beautifull Hoggard over, Ponting had been pinned back for five balls after hammering his half century off the bowling of Steve Harmison, he eventually played a a well placed bouncer that top edged to Andrew Strauss at fine leg who took a good catch. Hayden went next ball as Harmison angled a bouncer accross his body and he just dangled his bat out, it floated into the safe hands of Geraint jones and up went the finger.

Hoggard rattles the Aussies early doors again as Justin Langers stumps are given a seeing to:

Damien Maryn went just the same way without troubling the scorers, the key to making a good score as an indivsual on this pitch is getting in and getting used to judging the bounce, the majority of batsmen got out just poking around off stump at a bouncer that could do anything. Lehmann edged his first delivery through the slips and then ran a single before Hoggard finally dismissed him with a thin edge that was collected by Jones behind the stumps. Australia were in trouble at tis point and needed someone to either stand and eliver to boost the score or stay in and make 50-75 runs. Michael Clarke looked like taking the second option as he shared the crease with three partners and made a battling 20 from 78 balls. Gilchrist and Clarke needed to really bat for a long time, this was not to be as Gilchirst crashed his second delivery to the boundary and his third straight into the arms of Geraint Jones who was having a great day.

Damien Martyn goes for a duck:

Harmison picked up a well deserved second wicket in his last over, Brett Lee who looked dangerous at times in the first test was quickly disposed of after edging to Vaughan who was fielding at second slip. Flintoff was brought into the attack and he claimed two wickets in his first over, the first was the major one of Clarke pitched in line with middle stump then nipped away, a low catch taken by Thorpe at third slip, the second came two balls later as Gillespie stupidly drove at one nipping away from him, a silly thing to do when your 8 down and not even at 200 yet. Anderson bowledwell at under a run per over and claimed the only bowled wicket of the day, one that swung away from the batsmen and rocketed into off stump.

England Scorecard:

England need to capitalise on this great fielding display and put the match beyond the reach of the Aussies once and for all in their first innings, they need to get some high scores and can probrably afford to bat for two full days, they will back themslves again to bowl the Aussies out and either not bat again or chase a very small total, well done boys!!!!

Does anyone know of a more realistic patch that will allow for more competetive scores on the part of the computer???

Which patch are your currently using. I have heard that Ravis patches are good. I would try different patches out and see whats best for you.

Yep boss's new patch is great!

Thats the one im currently using and im fidning it too easy, btw, ive just started englands innings.

Ive tried Boss' patch in a test match between NZ and WI, and did not find it good enough for test matches. The batsman play way too aggressively scoring at 5-6 rpo and getting out for less than 300.
